BG3 is one of the only AAA crpgs in existence and had the backing of the worlds most popular tabletop game which was already in a boom due to other factors also boosting its popularity.
Hades was the most recent game by a rather popular indie darling company that had constan and positive word of mouth thanks to their prior games.
