All they had to do was release DD:Online in the USA with the features of Dark Arisen and it would have been great.
But instead we got an overweight remake without any serious improvements other than pandering to furries.

I dunno I'm enjoying Fighter in DD2, just exploring with my Mage gf pawn fighting gobs and shit, completely ignoring the story.

Adventuring in the world feels better now that you can camp and pawns not only comment on your travels and such. Classes are balanced and are viable from beginning to end and if you take to explore, you can keep finding cool shit. It took me 100 hours to wander arount a spot on the map with a small house and a girl that wishes to be a witch. I'm now looking to see if there's something that i can do for her without turning her family into ashes. So yeah, Itsuno was right and it's not a game for everyone, but it was certainly a game for me. You can try DD1 if you want and DD2 is more of the same.

It's a relatively small nitpick in the grand scheme of things, but I still feel like each vocation should have had a set of core skills built into each weapon rather than just a singular vocation action, like how the first game had two sets of equippable skills. Having important vocation-related skills as something you always had available would make the more niche skills more desirable to equip.

I agree. Blink/Burst Strike is an easy example of a skill that should just be part of the regular moveset instead of being something you spend a slot on. Spring/Launchboard for the shields as well.

Dullahans were alright enemies.
Talos was an interesting fight...conceptually.
Volcanic Island was pretty. You don't see that kind of biome represented much in video games.
Setting aside the censorship, the character creator's amazing and the arts and crafts during the demo was kino.
I loved Wilhelmina and especially the Sphinx as characters. I wish they weren't stuck in this meta blackpill nightmare dimension.
Ummm...that's it.

I mean, it was more of the same? It was worse in just about every way but you can't knock the core gameplay.
It's just a shame, especially on reflection.
