If you tried using gyro as mouse in the demo, it caused lag when a controller input was happening at the same time. Not sure how it works in the full version yet. Worst case scenario you can either use gyro as joystick (switches targets when you don't want it to) or map every input on the controller to a kbm input (pain in the ass and loses analog input)

About bad performance - I checked Steam board and people (in some of these negative reviews as well) mention how one of early bosses causes massive FPS dropdown due to some particle effects. So maybe the solution would be disabling some additional stuff in options? I remember how first DxM was running smooth and without any problems for me on RX480 card but I always goes to option first and disable various blurr and such or set particle effects to minimum.

After trying the demo, I felt that this was the definition of "wait for it to $15". The gameplay was fun enough that I could see myself enjoying it, but practically every other aspect was shit. $70 for PS3 graphics, poor performance, and very cringe dialogue/story is ridiculius. I know /v/ doesn't care about this, but NBA 2K26 and NHL 26 both came out today too, and Borderlands 4 next week. If anybody is buying any games right now, it is basically guaranteed to be anything but this. I look forward to picking it up for $20 or less in the next couple of months thanks to their blunder at least.

They should have doubled down on melee if they're going with suits. As the game stands you can circle around a big boss with ranged.
Ironically, playing a melee build in AC6 had a more power armor feel, where you can zoom up and kick something and then bash it with your pile-driver.

XBX was always flawed as fuck yet great in spite of that, but its environmental design is a high bar to clear. Saying DXM looks worse isn't saying much.
The combat is completely different but easily more fun in DXM2. Doll combat was especially pure ass, and you know it.

Also I played it fucking years ago. Call me when XBX2 comes out then we'll talk. Not interested in looking for reasons to deprive myself of extra fun.

And sure the combat is fundementally different, but you are not getting this game for its combat, and there are better games still do it better.

I'm not saying XBX is flawless or anything, but that DXM2 isn't worth the time or money one might give it.

That being said, it runs just fine at 1440@60~120 on my 5060ti. I wouldn't call that poorly optimized, or am I out of touch?

The demo is much more than the tutorial level. You get down to the planet and get a lot of shit to do pretty quick. I put like a dozen hours into the demo after touching down post tutorial mission. You can definitely get an idea of whether it's for you or not once you're out of the handholding intro.

ahh herro, the worst par of our first game wars the pirots... whrat if we remove mechs and have game where it nothing but pirots???

The "mechs" in the first game were basically just big armor too. They connected to the pilot via neural link and could move and gesture naturally as if the pilot was wearing them. I like bigger mechs, but their designs all felt samey compared to the armor designs in this game and I don't know why anyone misses them. The smaller armor even feels like it has more weight to it aside from the removal of that annoying landing delay mechanic.
