Silksong is not hard, most of the "difficulty" has been bullshit things (see; Beastfly and the fucking runback).
Everything feels less thought-out and more intentionally malicious. It's like the jump from DS1 to DS2. They just lost the plot at some point.
Boss fights are alright for the most part, it's just the constant runbacks and the enemy spawns mid-fight that sour everything. Oh and 5 masks is basically worse than the 3 masks in HK, because you need 7 (2 upgrades) masks to feel any kind of difference due to the fact that EVERY FUCKING ENEMY can either hit you twice in 1 second or just hits for 2 hearts from the get-go. If they were going to do the 3 hits you're done bullshit, the least the could've done was not spawn bullshit in the middle of a fight.
I also hate that the map is centered around ledge grabbing. Just make it a feature in the platforming, not THE feature to platform. It's fucking retarded from a design standpoint and it gets annoying after a while.

Overall, I feel like it's a 7.5. It'd be lower if you couldn't change your attack patterns for a more fun pogo.

I only see 3 violin doors. One in Mosshead, which I got through. One in Wormways, which I can’t reach, and one in the Far Fields, which didn’t seem to be doing anything. I have to be missing something…

I'm enjoying this a fucking lot more than HK so far and I loved HK. The word feels so incredibly hostile it makes traversing it feel like an actual adventure combined with the more intricately designed world makes it feel more immersive and interesting. Enemy and boss design is also a massive step up with every boss so far feeling really unique in how you go about defeating them and they all feel more diverse. Never mind the biggest difference being how unbelievably hard Hornet mogs the Knight in her moveset. God Hornet feels so much better to play. I'm having so much fucking fun lads. I love this game.

In my opinion? Silksong is way harder. More complex enemy designs, far less benches, and a majority of the require you to pay. While double damage in HK was reserved for a few rare enemies and endgame bosses, in Silksong pretty much every boss right from the get-go deals double damage or has attacks that deal double damage, and a decent amount of enemies too. Its that and the fact that health and nail upgrades are way harder to get than they are in HK, meaning that you cant just use high health and damage to facetank things like in HK. Also that you cant heal unless you have a full silk meter.

I did the fetch quest in sinners road, but idk where to go next or where the map maker is, anyone know?

Is there really no way to get a second Simple Key? I used my first to get the Hollow Knight moveset but honestly I don't even use it. Despite everyone's qualms with the divekick, I really fucking love divekicks (play more Castlevenia games, bros...) and prefer the extra range. I just learned what the other locked door gets you and feel like I'm missing out. The first door is for people who want a more vanilla HK experience while the second seems like it's for those who want to play with new mechanics, and I got fucking stuck with the wrong one. Loving the game so far but I'm going to be very annoyed if there's no way to get it. May even fucking open up cheat engine or something and insert a key into my inventory if they seriously locked me out of getting it just because I assumed the key had one use because I avoided spoilers.

If I go the cheat engine route, anyone have experience with it? I don't cheat in games, so it'd be my first time.

Still in Act 1 about 8 hours in but my honest opinion on Silksong so far is I'm generally enjoying it but it's a twice as annoying take on Hollow Knight.
It's like how Shadows of the Erdtree was to Elden Ring, in all of the bad ways (as in, doubling down on all the annoying shit). In SOTE, they just added magic AoEs to every boss and most enemies; Silksong's version of that is just to spam trash mobs.

Just beat Moorwing and honestly not feeling it
So much stuff doing 2 damage just makes HP ups feel pointless
Also feels like i missed every possible upgrade in existence, last one i got was the very first spell/skill
I got excited when i got Dash, but its been pretty disappointing since then
