The only way I could see this working is if the game lets you be the fucking Dark Souls protagonist all the trailers have shown her as for enough of the game to make you feel safe, and then the twist is all that shit gets taken away from you and you have to run around scared and helpless for the rest of it.

Isn't calling something feminist just what they do when they want to be allowed to praise stuff made to gratify straight men? Either that or an attempt to ruin their enjoyment.
There's nothing inherently wrong with a woman protagonist having horror be themed based on the struggles she goes through as a woman in the same way a man going though man struggles is fine. If there's any genre that's actually a really good place to tackle fringe social issues it's horror.

Hell I think most of /v/ nowadays wouldn't be able to handle the very female centered horror that SH3 specifically tackles or the not too subtle abortion and killing of "god" (also "god" is a woman.) or the fact Harry dies and is "replaced" by his daughter as the main character (or that note where Harry wrote down how he contemplated killing Heather as a baby)
You could very much make SH3 look ultra woke if you wanted to try to frame it that way in modern standards but that game wasn't really meant to be looked that way or really be seen as controversial.
