Too many zones, too much environmental headaches, too many "come back later" paths, too many enemy types to the point where keeping track of their combos is hard because SS minor enemies have more complex attack patterns than half the HK bosses, too many traversal tricks, too many tools, too many gimmicks like toxic water or mist, too many meme 3rd phases per boss, etc.

I'm having fun but it's definitely too hectic to be atmospheric the way HK was.

As a guy who finished every single souls like game on this earth, who finished hollow knight with no difficulty at all, I can say that I am done with this sequel.

Why on earth every single enemy is overturned as hell, why the hell there are 80% flying enemies in every single location, why you don’t get anything from bosses, why the hell do I have to pay for every bench, every quick travel, everything.

First hour was great, after that the game forgot the genre, like compared to souls games it is actually like after tutorial go to the Elden ring dlc and try to have fun. Traps that u can’t clearly see, the game genre should be “ragebait”.

I think this is a consequence of the game world ending up way bigger than Team Cherry initially intended in the late 2010s. If we assume Silksong was meant to be of a certain size, let's call it size 1, they designed the map size with the charms and upgrades in mind. However they just keep adding environments for years and it ended up being way too much stuff for the same amount of charms and upgrades, so they need to pad it out with other kinds of rewards.

Youre going in expecting the game to auto solve. It isn't. The game is actively hostile to you, but you bend it and learn it. If you are stuck, go around. If you are broke, go somewhere new. You WILL find rosaries. Because you're playing as a spider, the entire game is about building and prioritizing. You build up and develop certain areas. You're not casting a wide net. You just paid to get fast travel, or bench? now you have a base from which to complete the surrounding area.

I'm starting to feel like a lot of the bullshit in this game is due to how healing works. You heal 3 masks now, so they just took the worst way of balancing that by making tons of stuff deal 2 hits, and have bosses summon adds to interfere with you trying to heal mid air.
You also have shit like Moorwing's saws running along the ground and then curving upward to try and prevent you from healing on the ground or the air.

Holy shit the widow was an awesome fight. The huge Bellhart mystery, the slog fight through the woods, raping Sister Splinter, stumbling down into the route where she is doing creepy shit and she's not even the boss spider, our first naked spider, that fight, the fakeout death... So fucking good. I'm so glad I toughed it out

How to farm rosaries:
Go to the top left of chorus where a save point is located. To the right there's a large corridor with a procession of 3 enemies.
Equip reaper and the silk spear then run into the corridor while charging a normal attack. Hit the first of the trio with a charged, use the silk spear. finish the last enemy, then run back to the save.
About 800 rosaries in less than 10 minutes. If you farm a ton, just use a vendor to transform them into a breakable rosarie so you won't lose them. Kisses.

It takes any enjoyment out of the kill, because your reward is having to grind to unlock the map/fast travel/bench for the new area.

Act 3 bosses are all fucking hard, also have pretty bad runbacks and even mob gauntlets. Most seethe-inducing were probably the poison village retards with the run back, the chief and so far the conjoined twins. Honestly no boss so far has been super difficult, I think about six-eight tries max.

I like my poison clockworks, guaranteed damage while I'm busy dodging. I run hunter because it just werks.

And yes I saved them from having to do the pilgrimage ;). I did however save the refugees in the citadel by saving the clockwork guy beforehand
