I like doing that more in combat because it gives me more room to cancel and attack rather than unspriting which is heavy and clunky. When exploring I run like normal. It's actually pretty useful once you get the hang of it, it feels much faster and smoother to perform than in hollow knight (where it wasn't needed)

To be fair, I had the "double damage charm" equipped so the boss attacks did 4 masks of damage. It felt very unfair still, imagine having two HPs left and feeling respite to die like a dog. It made me mad. Also the charm barely improves your attack, similarly to the first game but anything that helps kill enemies faster is good in my book, even with the increased risk in potentially adding more tedium (less room for mistakes)

Terrible platformer here (I have no idea how I ever finished path of pain). If I'm using the diagonal pogo, what's the best way to deal with the pendulums in Sinner's Road? Am I better off jumping with it and pogoing it at its max distance from the platform I was on? Or pogoing it as its near my platform and a second time as both it and I are moving away from the platform?

Both seem to work, but given I can't do either method reliably I'm wondering which is mechanically the better to aim for. The latter is definitely better with the vertical pogo but I'm using Hunter's crest at the moment.

nah, shit's actually a case of reverse difficulty curve and it's dumb. they don't give you enough options at the start of the game, and (especially for a new player not returning from HK) you aren't given enough time to get comfortable with the options you do have before you're expected to use them at maximum effectiveness.
act 2 is miles easier than act 1 because the enemy difficulty stays the roughly same but you get a lot more shit to utilize.
