I think it was a good idea and the real is impeacably designed. But there are two key problems that make this are not enjoyable to play and not satisfatory to complete:
>1) it lacks good enemies and bosses: there is nothing in there particularlly interesting to fight. It needed some warrior-like enemies like in Hunter's March and Citadel so you can actually enjoy some good fights as you progress. The boss is also not good, which needs no further comment.
>2) No meaningful reward: the slingshot amulet is good but also a secret, but at the end of the level all you find is a story item that doesn't help you in the slightest. You also get barelly any rosaries.

Now compare this to the dedicated suffering areas of Hollow Knight:
>Waterways: the walking flukes are fun to fight, and the Dung Defender is a good boss. As a reward you get Defender's Crest and the Flukenest charm.
>Deepnest: there are various fun enemies to engage and Nosk is a ok boss. As reward you get the Tram pass, Weaversong, Sharpshadow (later) and a Pale Ore.

If you got the slots, mandatory item is definitely Thief's Mark(makes them drop more rose), you will definitely want magnetite brooch so you can keep moving and not have to stop to pick up beads. Good optional ideas if you got the free slots are Silkspeed anklets to speed it up, magnetized dice for potential critical hits and blocked attacks. Finally, use the silk skill Cross Stitch to parry and counter them.

I would basically sprint right at them and beat them senseless with wanderer crest, then when they are finally about to stab me or use their silk ability, I parry it with Cross stitch which usually finishes them or one more attack will.

What inforiates me is that the bilewater heal shit could be a challenging mechanic in something like hollow knight, where you have more heals with less soul. Here you have to waste 10 BARS OF SILK to get rid of a state that you can get the next second anyways.

The classic term “kaizo block” refers to an invisible block placed to fuck a player making a jump. You can’t know the block is there until you try the jump and get trolololoed into the pit.

When people say Silksong is “kaizo” they mean death is mandatory because the game can get you into situations with no winning play; the only winning play was to already have known the situation was possible and avoid it.

That's it, i'm fucking done for today. Act 3 is so tedious to play that I can't bring myself to play more of it. I'm sure it would be more tolerable if I had upgraded my needle before starting it but every single fucking bug taking over 6 hits to kill no matter the area just deletes any motivation to explore the map. The game peaked in act 2 and I wish I stopped there and returned to act 3 some other time. Acts 1 and 2 were so much fun to explore and besides a few minor annoyances I very much enjoyed my time. Act 3 is so fucking boring to "explore" and on top of that I feel so weak even against the most basic of bugs.

Maybe I would've enjoyed it more if I didn't have 40ms screen delay(work laptop). Biggest gripes are the way exploration is handled, how questing to act 3, which is a very sizable addition to the game, is handled with randomly appearing wishes on the quest board and needing random or very hidden stuff done for it, dark souls story telling where some of the lore is too ambiguous and seemingly important characters are treated with almost less text than casual npcs. I was trying not to look up guides but at some point it is just too frustrating and nauseous to go all over the map again and again for hidden walls and places.

Question about the Architect Crest and something I noticed while using it to fight E.Conchfly and Lugoli.
I used a similar approach for both of them where I'd use Architect's air-neutral to get in quick damage when they return to the map before shooting projectiles.

Does Architect having a longer persisting hurt box outside of the actual visible animation compared to other crests' attacks?

Personally, I think that bilewater and putried ducts should have been one area and been half the size of both combined. It had a solid mechanic and it was thematically intresting in the worldbuilding, watching the water flow in from the lake and turn into aids from the decrepit influence of the fallen citadel, so that's cool and all, but the game really didn't need THREE muckfaggot areas. Sinner's Path and a combined other two would have been the perfect amount. As it is, it's just too long in the same general environment. It's a crime that those areas are so expansive when the absolute KINO that is mount fay and the sands of karak are as small as they are
