Tim Sweeney was correct in his statement of developers decide the store, but incorrect of his assumption that only developers get to decide this shit. Sure. I just wish more people used GOG to buy older single player games at least, even ones that are available on Steam. I do recognize Steam's features and and convenience, though. It's annoying but understandable that people want all their games in one place.

Most Steam games are easily pirated anyway unless Denuvo is used; companies should just bring them to GOG some months or a year later, after the initial sales period.

You really can't, but cheat detection isn't going to be the solution either. Cheat detection software is just as fallible as regular software and if a competitive game exists, there will be a russian or chink ready to break it.
Personally, I still the best anti-cheat is active moderation on community servers. The shift towards global matchmaking on developer owned servers is what made cheating so much more prevalent.

You don't run a computer without an anti-virus just because people make new viruses.
You can detect known cheat modifications and ban the person from the developer owned server. VAC Bans are used exactly for that.
