Correct.
The only company for which I've noticed the most similar worship but still far from the level of religion is Apple.
I don't wish this post to be a criticism of the quality but the amount of people I've personally seen who herald a decade old feature as something that's been invented by the company and can only be on their phones (in this case a microphone permission system) is genuinely mind-boggling.
The closest I've ever seen a religious mentality outside of actual religion and politics.

>I saw the threads yesterday and i just dont get peoples anger
Everything nowadays is one of two extremes, either it is the best thing ever or the worst thing ever. Online, saying you like something is either:
>A circlejerk where you all say how great it is.
or
>Where you circle the wagons and prepare for people to rip you a new asshole for daring to like something.
And online bubbles love ripping into things in whatever narrative they are in. That isn't to say all criticism is unwarranted, plenty of people can be nuanced in their analysis but unfortunately they are drowned out by other forces. The hype machine wants your universal adoration by force through marketing to get you to fall in line and spread the hype and the equal and opposite force is the sustained shitting happening in reaction to this.

Expectation is also the thief of joy. Notice how the word overrated is often overused online? Hype is a (you) problem. Every year I see some horror movie get hyped up into being the "best thing ever" and then people declaring it didn't live up to the hype. Last year I think it was Longlegs, this year it is Weapons. Because we aren't watching these shows in a vacuum and everything becomes a comparison between the hype bubble vs the reality which is never the same. It doesn't help that franchises push fear of missing out and other anxieties to try and galvanise consumers into fanatics.

The problem with parasocialism and making fans into fanatics (or if not making then just having fanataical fans) is that fanatics do not moderate, they turn from one extreme to another. So where Yoshi used to be fawned over and loved by the community, now it's vacilitated to hyper hatred. Additionally:

1) Influencers entire business model is getting viewers. That is what matters, nothing else. "It's mid", "It's okay", nuanced takes unless that is your particular product do not bring in viewers. Bombastic celebratory or denouncing rhetoric does: Either validates one's beliefs or rage-baits them
2) The MSQ is sine qua non to the game because you must progress through it to do anything. In the past it was able to mitigate its tedium and 'talk to 3 people' repetition because of an engaging story. Dawntrail was so abjectly terrible as a story that the faults laid bare. The setting of Tural is so bland and unengaging that people are not invested enough to pay attention to cutscenes, side dialogue, ect. Had it great gameplay it could have weathered that storm, but it doesn't.

From what I saw before fanfest could have a fairly quick turnover in announcement to event. Like I saw in one year it was announced in June or may and happened in august or september, something like that. But I agree with Q1 2027. If it's winterer expansion then that might thematically also fit.

>Because the ironic thing is that people like Critical Drinker are literally part of the problem because they would like all these remakes/reboots if they weren't woke
This is what gets me about all this nerd shit, the people crying about it just want to like it again and they are part of the reason remakes get made because they just want to see that shit again and again Nerd culture/fandom is consumerist as fuck.

>>videogames and movies being badly written is a sign of societal and moral degradation
>> is a sign
Well, it is.
If you live in a society where quality, no matter how subjective, is no longer a goal for anyone, this is when you have a societal collapse.

>>714844456
>'this is because of a conspiracy trying to undermine morality itself..
NTA, but you are the only one imagining a conspiracy.
Such degradation is more easily the result of people no longer giving a shit about anything and destroying their own culture.
Moral don't even play into this, you can have highly immoral entertainment and still be like god to civilization where these immoral actions are not fictional, don't make any sense, let alone the topic of consent...
