Knew there was double jump because of anons posted so I googled where to get it. I got all the melodies and was about to move on. Found out I did a ton of things out of order. I saved Bellhart but somehow missed climbing up the ladder to find the vendors. I did almost the whole game with an unupgraded needle. I did Unravelled and Savage Beastfly 2 with no upgrades. I was agreeing with people who said the enemies were too spongey when it took 5-6 hits to kill small enemies. I got really good at pogoing.

Been stuck at Last Judge since tuesday. I'm too bad at the game to beat it even after watching guide videos or getting tips from people. Like magma bell. I have never seen its 3rd phase which it apparently has. I always mess up before that. I have lost count how many tries its been. 60+ something now. I know there's a skip for this boss too, but I can't even reach the mist zone with ghosts chasing you. I always mess up something when trying to get through Bilewater.

I think the core of my issue with the game is the backtracking. And I know that sounds like bait because of all the retards who complained about the backtracking in HK.

But the backtracking in HK was minimal, usually once per zone, and the zones were small enough where it never really took that long. In SS, it feels like every single zone wants you to come back 4-5 times, once after you get each movement upgrade. This is exacerbated by the Quest systems, which do send you back to each zone to do something.

It gets to a point where discovering all the secrets and pinning/remembering the openings becomes a chore, ESPECIALLY because lots of these new secret areas don't really have anything that interesting in them. Some do have upgrades or new items, but never anything like finding the White Lady, for example. Nothing BIG.
Act 3 in particular is SUCH a slog as a result. Same old places, except this time half your shortcuts are removed, and enemies are annoyingly tanky. Finding Coral Tower in Act 3 was easily the best, just because it was actually something fucking new.

There should've been much more stuff discoverable much earlier. Verdania, for example, has no right being in Act 3. It should've been a connecting zone from Memorium. You could even get the Prince's heart and have something in your inventory alluding to the fact that there is some alternative ending. Super Jump for example should've only been needed for a few core areas, not like ~15 more hidden spots. Similarly to how Shadow Dash in HK was only needed for like 4 places, two of which were ending related.

Bilewater is the biggest example. The amount of people posting that they got to BW and then got sick of the game was absurd. Not because Bilewater was necessarily a ballbuster, but because you knew you'd be coming back to it and it was just nightmarish to be in in the first place.

Idk. SS is great, and amazing for being a $20 game. But it just doesn't do it for me in the end.

I used Reaper and then Architect for their reach/movesets. The only time I used tools was against the flower boss because I didn't feel like doing the gimmick. So I didn't have access to silk skills either.
I just played calmly, everything is massively telegraphed and all bosses have openings after attacking and are only really dangerous if you're too aggressive. Some you can only fight this way, like Seth, but it applies to everything.

The mist isn't past bilewater. It's the top left exit from Sinner's. The ghosts in there can be killed easily just waiting to pogo their charge.
This leads to Exhaust Organ which is technically on the Bilewater map but you can't access Bilewater this way, it's just a building you enter with 2 bats a bench and simple platforming to a boss named Phantom. Phantom may be harder that Last Judge, I can't really say. I managed to kill him and had lots of problems with other bosses.

Advise getting tacks from the quest in Sinner's room that looks like it has cages on the map, and poison from shellnest as other's mentioned. Tacks can hit boss 5 times and poison makes these hit 2 more times, though they can overlap and not all count. Boomerang is also good from Hunter's but it may be more difficult to get.

I have already beat her. Still doesn't change the fact that the teleporting is bullshit if she can do it instantly and you get contact damage for it. You don't have to sprint for it to happen, you can very easily dash into it. Contact damage is fine to punish failed pogoing or attempting to run through, it's not fine if she can basically telefrag you.

The worst part is definitely the visual clutter though, that shit is just poor and uninspired design. Lace is black and every ability is also black so she can disappear on the screen? Incredible.

I'm 32 so I'm not a zoomer. I've been playing the game and I've missed a ton of stuff which is very easily missed. I always comb through and yet I still didn't notice certain breakable walls. The only want I found out were some posts in these threads. I would've dropped the game at Last Judge because I was getting softlocked as the cutscene wouldn't play after beating her but then I saw posts that there was an alternate entrance to Act 2 in these threads.
