The only thing he fucked up was giving the completely non-sentient marketing pitch to people who were arguably sentient, and those arguable sentients promptly turned around and told all of the non-sentients that "none of your friends will have this", which drove them towards Playstation's "all of your friends have it" marketing.
Just look at the numbers for any so-called system seller and see it dwarfed by normalfag yearly sportsball games.
The only thing they are concerned with is keeping up the charade of possessing a crowd of people who play games on it, which conversely means that exclusives are actually bad, since fewer people will talk about the game. They don't need exclusives, they just need their logo to be the biggest one in multiplat adverts.
