I very much dislike gyas.

Waluigi is canonically a self-pitying loser who cheats because he thinks the world himself is cheating him out of the spotlight. He also tends to crumble under pressure, loses his temper easily and can be rather snide. He's essentially the anti-heroic exaggeration of what Luigi was like before Luigi's Mansion. Despite all this, he isn't outright malicious towards others, so he can never be considered an actual villain. He just wants to be the superstar in all his favorite sporting events and go-kart races alongside the other characters he competes with, even though he's always got some tricks up his lanky purple sleeves. I've seen how sad people who main unpopular characters in competitive games or party games feel at times, myself included. And yet, the more I look at Waluigi's antics, the more that I feel the same way he does about the world. I may not have the time or resources to travel and compete as often as I want, but I still feel similar levels of frustration that Waluigi does.

I've already accepted the reason why Waluigi doesn't have major roles in main series Mario or Wario's games, which is also why he's not playable in any official Smash games. And yet, I just can't help but feel bad for Waluigi. Although Waluigi is one of my least wanted newcomers for Smash, I can't ever bring myself to hate him because I see a surprising amount of myself in him. Its also part of why I think his fanbase's love for him is genuine despite their incredibly memey nature.

recently he added all the parties as options that always appear on game votes regardless of game cooldown, so there's that. though, i do agree the oversaturation has worn out its welcome, not just for the nonstop parties but also the idea of making a gambling game out of any game that might qualify for cpu vs cpu. i was a devoted watcher for a time and then just sorta stopped when there was no chat interaction, bad games for white noise while doing other things (often lasting for hours on end, which he likes), and just general burnout since the gimmick ran its course with me.
