Have been testing usage of LLMs and agentic systems for the past 6 months and thanks to the 5090 I was able to proof a system at home which is in the process of deployment into production for said government due to complete December of this year. Will allow me to downsize a lot of cost (replace 6 different 500k-1mil software vendor contracts with a home grown system) and push that savings into my/my team's salary and more physical infrastructure rather than some shitberg faggy company like Microsoft.

I can only speak for myself but I have wasted years and missed many opportunities in order to spend time with this hobby. I spend around 1600-2000 hours a year staring at the same computer screen, the least I can do is make sure it's of a certain quality. If I spent my whole life fishing I would get something better than a 50 dollar entry level fishing rod, and if I spend decades playing games I'm going to get something better than a cheap low res monitor.
Higher resolutions provide more detail, clarity, and immersion due to less visual glitches. And modern image quality gimmicks like DLSS work better the higher your resolution is. Trying to go back to 1080p output now makes everything look really bad even when all post-processing is off.

Built in 2020 for about $1400, still running strong except for the GPU finally starting to get hot in Squad, should probably dust more than twice a year. I tried to buy a 3080 repeatedly in 2020 and couldn’t, but I did manage to get a PS5 which I viewed as sort of a consolation prize. I tried to get a 4000 series and had similar trouble. Was about to just bite the bullet and buy a prebuilt, when I realized it was mostly fomo compelling me to invest in a gaming pc and most of the AAA games I wanted to play ran just fine on my PS5. I got a couple retro consoles off eBay and realized I was happiest playing old games on an crt and a handful of the new games that interest me on PS5.

I'm sure that upscaled image using dogshit FSR2 at sub PS4 resolutions looks absolutely crisp. You could upscale from 540p on PC using modern methods and get better image and performance. I played this at launch it's good tech wise, it's locked 1440 for the 60fps mode tho not 1440-4k dynamic. 4k mode is 30fps.

the problem is UE5 slop and since the majority of games run on that engine now you end up with 800p upscaled using the worst upscaling technique on PS5.
