Everyone acts like he's the ultimate evil but he seems pretty sympathetic and his actions understandable, even if they are wrong because of all the death they caused. Apparently the game has NG+. Hoping NG+ includes a true ending where you take down the higher being Homomon or whatever he was called. He seems like the real bad guy in all this. Also absolutely tragic that Minervamon didn't gen an evolved form where she rides a motorbike.

hmmmm Time Stranger and Cyver Sleuth are actually very similar so it's hard to assess
Cyber Seluth is cheating a little because right now it's actually two games, so it has an unfair advantage in terms of content and volume. However Time Stranger is much more refined and much more polished both visually and mechanically.

In terms of story it's a lot different, CS is much more comedic a lot of it's more important moments are laced with very silly japanese humor whereas Time Stranger takes itself a lot more seriously and dedicates a lot to it's own narrative. Cyber Sleuth has more hype moments but Time Stranger is much better told. I like TS plot better, but CS has better characters and better moments.

Gameplay is very even in both senses. Both games are enjoyable the same way and even more or less broken in the same way. I do like that TS paces it's digievolution a lot more so you actually spend time with your rookies and your champions instead of just ditching them right away.

Overall they feel very close to each other, so much so that I'm uwilling to say one it's better than the other as much as they're extensions of each other. I am enjoying time stranger more but that's more likely than not the recency bias talking.

First off, this is a single player game and they should mind their own fucking business and let me name them whatever I want. Second of all, some of the words that are banned are insane. I'm definitely taking way too long. The game is also way too easy so far. I'm playing on Hard mode and it's a joke. Not happy that there are 2 difficulty options locked at the start. Been with Digimon since the Adventure 01 show and Digimon World 1. More recently, played through Cyber Sleuth. Thought it was meh. Tried playing Survive, but literally fell asleep in the opening half hour. Went back to it, but didn't even make it another 2 hours before I fell asleep again. Never felt compelled to try the game again after that. Digimon Tri also got worse as it went to the point that by the end, I just didn't care anymore about what was happening.
So this game has been a breath of fresh air. Just feels really refined and when I got to the digital world and was walking around the town for the first time, it actually felt magical and full of wonder.
As an aside, I almost didn't notice your reply to me, because it didn't put a (You) at the end of the numbers. I've only seen that happen once before, but now I'm wondering what's wrong with 4chan to where this keeps happening.

is the damage calculation formula. Attack, Defense, Skill Power, and Level are the only damage modifying properties excluding external modifiers like Agent Skills and equipment like Blue Steel. Evolution Stage is not a factor. A level 99 Botamon with 9999 ATK will do the same damage as a level 99 Apocalymon with 9999 ATK if they both use the same skill on the same enemy.

My playtime for this game so far. You know, it's nice to have a game that I actually want to play for once. Feels like its been so long since a new game was enjoyable that I started to think I don't like videogames anymore and just play them out of old habits to kill time, but no. It really is just that most modern games are shit and not worth playing.
Not to say that this game is a masterpiece. It's easy to see where corners were cut. Their DLC content is also, to put it bluntly, disgusting. Music tracks, side quests, and a bunch of outfits. All stuff which should be in the base game. On top of that, the pricing for it all is absurd! Then there's the outer dungeons DLC, which is basically their way of trying to sell you in-game EXP, money, and items, for real money. It's like they wanted this to be a shitty gatcha game. These DLCs are so gross that I considered not even getting the game.

Depends how much you need done. Starting from 0 Bond can be annoying because it takes a while to sit through the feeding animation 50 times. Getting the right Personality Skill can take seconds or minutes depending on rng. Getting to level 99 can easily be done in under an hour and you can do several mons at once for this step. Getting 9999 in all stats from the farm takes about an hour per mon depending on if they're a brand new digimon or one that you've used for a while and has a bunch of bonus stats.

Playing this made me want to get one of those digimon tamagotchi things but they're all $100+ dollarydoos

It's just a barf of numbers but TLDR is Minervamon's single target signature hits way harder than anything Mervamon can do if the boss isn't resistant to steel, Mervamon's S2 hits very slightly harder but I don't think it's going to catch up to the S1 damage difference. Also there's no boost for being a different generation.

Beyond that, attacks that do percent health are super good for most boss battles.
I used a phantomon for 15% health cuts.
Any poop throwing digimon is good too for that.

The factorial one was pretty easy, it has a few fights and you might still die but it's not that bad. The Shinjuku section was horrible, make sure you have any of the accessories that can null crystallize, Etemon's Bling will help too, and a generic physical counter skill. My game would softlock when I tried to change Aegiomon's form in the Shinjuku section so I couldn't use Aegiochusmon Holy's counter, not sure if that issue is still around.

Finally finished the game it took me 100 hours but that's because I tried to fill the field guide on first playthrough and did alot of farming and ended up with like 78 mega digimons with at least lvl 65
Them putting chronomon dialog in the midst of battle was certainly a choice. I could barely hear him over the music so I'll probably watch it on YouTube to get a clearer idea of his monologue.
I want to write a review of the story and characters later on to get a better idea of how I feel about it but it was certainly more confusing than the previous titles. This whole thing with "all part of chronomon's plan" was getting annoying because it wasn't clear what actually was part of his plot, what was just convenience or good luck and what was something against his wishes.
Also what exactly is the deal with ageiomon's ending? I thought his fate would be to be stuck or imprisoned but in the end he's free to roam the digital world like any other digimon, right?
Also to be clear the scene we see in the human world where agent appears and so does inori and her brother...when is that exactly? Is it supposed to be in the 8 years later timeline like the prologue before we went 8 years back ? If so shouldn't inori basically be an adult woman and not a high school student and shouldn't yuu be older?

This is my first Digimon game (except for playing rumble arena 2 with friends back when I was a kid). I really enjoyed the game and I’m glad to see all the Digimon I liked as a kid again. Since I love to autistically collect every single Digimon and grinded a lot the game became too easy.
The only thing I have to point out is the lack of real endgame stuff to do and the absurd amount of cutscenes that add nothing to the game. I have all these 99 lvl Digimon for nothing it seems. I hope new game+ will mitigate that.

I tried Crit equips (I only have Sky God Thunderbolt and not the CRT attachments), and Minerva still does more damage overall. If you use the S2s then Merva does come out on top by about 10% more damage, she's more consistent as she only needs 3 Crits, while Minerva needs 4 Crits and high rolls to win, but in the end Strike Roll crits still beats a MGRDX 3 crit, even a low strike roll crit can beat out 3 high rolls crits from MGRDX.

Certain digimon do %health like phantomon or any poop throwing attacks.

There's a personality skill that buffs ATK based on HP and one specific digimon even does %health damage to all enemies based on his own health which is incredibly busted.

Get a zealous Stingmon, evolve it into Okuwamon then GranKuwagamon. Then devolve Dinobeemon then Stingmon. You will get a free XVmon out of it. Repeat with macro when you go to sleep.
Before the loop, get Stingmon to 100 talent and friendship so the duped XVmon inherits that.

Time Stranger is immensely better. Cyber Sleuth had very little music, and what music it had was extremely repetitive. Time Stranger has tons of music, and also has variations of the same theme for different moods and environments. Cyber Sleuth put you in the blue boxy Kowloon dungeon for nearly the entire game. Time Stranger has you traveling a very diverse group of environments in the Digital World for most of the playtime. There's a little bit of real world playtime that is very similar, but Time Stranger's version is still superior as it has overworld music, more NPCs, and is faster to traverse. The battle system has been souped up a little for Time Stranger, mostly for the better. The graphics are all tons better, with my only complaint being that a couple areas in Time Stranger look muddy because of the lack of contrast caused by the dynamic lighting and cell shading technique.

Overall vast improvement, and more of an adventure game than dungeon crawler this time.
