I shared the same opinion as those people until I played the game. I thought Hollow Knight was boring, slow, gay and uninteresting on top of being too easy. It's not until I stumbled upon the soul master or soul tyrant boss fight (the dream version) and finally got stuck that the game (and its purpose) finally clicked with me. I came to really appreciate the music and sound design after that. It's no masterpiece, but it's really well done for an indie game. Colosseum of fools and godhome are the best parts of this game. I don't buy on release anymore and never for more than $20 after. The profitability of a product is not my problem.

I'm not buying it because, while i did like NG2B, there just wasn't much to justify the price. I don't get anything out of bumping the difficulty because i don't play games for the challenge. I play them for fun and if i'm not having fun at a higher difficulty setting it's not worth playing. Now finishing NG2B had unlocked new content, new characters, new enemies, just NEW STUFF in general, i would have probably replayed it. But as it is NG2B is fun for about 10 hours, which is how long it took me to finish it once, and that's it. Which is terrible for a full price game. Considering all that, NG4 looks like exactly the same and i'm not falling for that again. Ninja Gaiden games are half price titles, at best. At least for me because i don't get anything out of playing it for the combat alone. The fighting is the treadmill but i still need a carrot that keeps me there.

If you compare it to japan's current output then yes. The only action games I have played this year chinese, wo long and AI Limit, and korean, stellar blade, khazan and lies of P's dlc.
