It's chocked full of plot conveniences and the main character is quite bad. For example the main character grew up in a vault and soon after leaving is told to cut a head off and she's indifferent to the idea instead of hesitant or nervous. It's a decent show and an interesting world that is loosely based on the canon of the games. Like the "based on a true story" movie to match a historical event, where they omit major aspects to make it palatable and watchable.

If there was a show that religiously followed the original canon it probably wouldn't be a very good show. But they've dumbed it down enough for a mainstream audience while keeping it relatable to OG fans. I'm really not a huge fan of the Bethesda fallout games but I think they've actually found their calling making the show, ironically, they are far better at making the fallout show than any fallout game they've produced.

Thematically sure, but long-term the Legion is fucked, they do not produce any quality weapons themselves and are only strong against tribals. The Legion is unwashed retarded tribals, they can only vanquish civilized foes in Pyrrhic victories, and that's not going to work against the full might of the NCR. The Legion can only beat the NCR in that small border area where the war is unpopular, if they tried to attack the mainland, then public opinion would fully support total war to defend themselves and the Legion would get wrecked, it's why you can convince Lanius that continuing West is a stupid idea.

I unironically love Maximus. I love that he's a clueless retard and stumbles his way through the wasteland creating massive problems for everyone. I love how simple his motivations are. He pleasantly reminds me of low intelligence playthroughs of the original game where a complete dullard is given a monumental task that should be far beyond their capabilities but they somehow make it work.

Honestly I love all three of the characters and think it's great that they couldn't decide on which player insert archetype to go with so they made all three share the screen. It kind of reminds me of how in the og games they would give you three potential pre-made characters to go with representing the different approaches you could use to solve problems.

While I don't like some of the lore bastardization I think the characters are the strongest aspect of the show. Old me would have hated this show on general principle of it being a Bethesda product but they took an acceptable compromise and I'm tired of hating Fallout things simply because they're not what I expect.

I am pro-NCR and have been since Fallout 2 but I always pick No Gods No Masters and make sure they lose the Mojave. I think that it's important for the NCR to learn that overextending itself and allowing expansionist warmonger retards like Kimball to lead their society is a mistake. Hopefully it's one that they will learn lessons from and take steps to correct. They're already the biggest post-war state in the canon. Annexing Vegas is beyond their capabilities and will lead them to ruin in the long run.
