The "classic" 10mm pistol is an ugly eyesore of a revolver from a Frank Miller comic, and Fallout 3 turning it into a pseudo desert eagle+Mk.23 LAM shaped tumor is an upgrade, and it is the only "reimagining" worth a damn by Bethesda because their energy weapons and real life guns are as shit as the classic weapons.

Because this is Bethesda Austin, whereas Starfield was primarily made by Bethesda Maryland, i.e. the main Bethesda that people mean when they say "Bethesda." Parent company Zenimax founded Bethesda Austin in 2012 in order to make live service multiplayer games, although their main project fell through and they were instead tasked to be a support studio for id Software, helping them make the multiplayer for Doom 2016. This experience and focus on multiplayer is why they were assigned to make FO76.

I'd actually be pretty optimistic if they were to make a new, standalone Fallout game. While they were tasked to make slop, they unironically did some good work with a lot of the quests and such they added after the Wastelanders update. It surprised me to see the return of dialogue trees and stat checks after FO4. It'd still be modern Fallout, but I think they could make it actually somewhat fun, especially if it had co-op.

Starfield was a major projection by the main Bethesda studio in Maryland. As is the case with most of these multi-studio companies, everyone gets pulled in to do some work. The Fallout 76 team worked on Starfield, and being part of a bigger team, of course that means they weren't deployed in the same way they would be for Fallout 76, and it doesn't mean their work would be as apparent.

Not really. 76 was given to BattleCry Studios to figure out how to put it together. While they were both part of Zenimax, Beth was nothing more than the "idea guy" and provided assets. They became Bethesda Austin just before 76 released and for a few years now have had multiple different studios work on it, like Double Eleven, for example.

There’s no dlcs to buy. Arguably the coolest armors in the game (brotherhood recon and the secret service armour) are in the game as quest rewards. Same with power armor, I personally really like the default skin in the Hellcats Power Armor, and again it’s just part of a quest line.

There are cool cosmetics that are in game shop only BUT the game does reward you with a lot of Atomic shop points, if there’s a handful of things you really want, you can get them for free. There is fomo stuff but it is part of the season pass. Atomic shop stuff almost always cycles back.

Controls and UI are better but with literally all items unlocked and purchased, you'll have less objects to build with than Fallout 4 with all DLCs. And yes, almost all objects have already been ported to Fallout 4.

Which is AT LEAST two weeks of grinding boring repeating events until you cap out for the day? (24 days of daily grind if you want to upgrade it as well)
Alternatively I guess you can get lucky and have it drop with the abysmal drop rate from your daily mission, maybe you'll get the entire set in a few months of doing the same shit over and over.
Wow, I'm so happy I can grind the same 5 events for hours a day for multiple weeks straight.

The quests are typical badly written Beteshda dogshit except somehow even fucking worse.
The build making is shallow (albeit I will admit fun) disguised by making legendary effects massive pain in the ass to get.
The issue is that there's nothing to fucking do, the gameplay is a Korean MMO grindfest except with none of the benefits of an MMO.
The servers absolutely shit themselves whenever there's more than 5 people in one spot, suddenly I can fly into the stratosphere with my jetpack during any event because the server forgets to consume my AP for example.

Planning to mod FO4 with some of the armor/weapons from FO76...and then add a proper slaving market. Mix it with sex mods, random events about slave trade wars, and maybe a nice story line as well, and bingo, wasteland coom-pocalypse

As stupid as it is, the 3/NV Recon "Armor" makes more sense, even though realistically they are more like the pajamas you would wear under your Power Armor.

I also don't think these quest lines are so bad. The gold vault break in is a fun quest line. Probably my favorite one in the game. The Brotherhood of Steel questline isn't so bad either (the one that rewards the Hellcats PA).
