33 days until Nintendo release this game essentially dead because they did zero (0) marketing, obligated Retro into adding a useless open world and made the game cost more than $20

I'm playing all the games before this comes out, I'm up to Fusion now, but I probably won't have enough time to beat all three Primes and Dread after it. Also I don't even know what to do about Prime 3's controls even if i emulate it. Nintendo really should have spent the time since they rebooted 4 development to put out the other two remasters.

I think you can probably get away with playing the first Prime at least. It's honestly not very long, even if you're going for 100%, and it's the best game in the series, so it's worth a play. At this point I almost think they wouldn't do TOO much with Prime 4 that relies on any deep seated lore in 2 or 3 that they wouldn't already readily explain in 4. But then again, Sylux is here, so what the fuck do I know?

Reminder that this is a Tanabe game so the reason for the poor marketing is because they're hiding an even more retarded gameplay element than the bike or open world. Remember when they tried hiding the ring battle system in the Origami King trailer? Something awful like that.

Putting aside all the hate, flame wars, and shitposting, that motorcycle scene really looks like shit.
The whole thing about locking onto targets at high speed never works. Either you require the player to kill enemies, or to drive the motorcycle at 300 km/h. If you mix the two, then you're necessarily going to make the act of battling and driving the motorcycle shallow, and if you're making things shallow in order for them to work, then you're designing your game wrong. You remove things that don't work, you don't make them brain-dead.
Then there are those attack maneuvers that look amateurish, in terms of animation, physics momentum, etc.
In other words, it's not that the motorcycle seems out of place in the style of the game, it's that it seems to be a bad gameplay element.

When the speculative hype was at its peak this game was the talk of the town. They absolutely have fumbled the prerelease and post-reveal marketing and allowed that hype to basically vanish. No one gives a fuck about Beyond anymore. They have one shot at rekindling it with their hypothetical MP4 direct but the likelihood of it even existing is next to nil. Chances are the game will be much better than it looks and flop anyway, so the usual Metroid experience lmao.

Beyond selling well is only a problem if it’s dogshit. And all things considered, even with the stupid bike it probably won’t be.

everyone goes on about the game being potentially open world, but here I'm worried about everything else. Nothing in the trailers has inspired any confidence. It feels like they're just doing a safe retread of everything in previous Prime games, and this wouldn't normally be an issue if they at least improved upon the old games, but the psychic powers look and feel way too gimmicky.Combat looks way too slow, enemies have single digit AI (like those retarded wolves in the snowstorm who can't kill samus, even when they're ganging up on her). The desert feels like it's alluding not to open world issues, but traversal issues where Retro is trying to fix the problem of traveling to different areas, but instead of something actually interesting, it's just a boring bike ride. Look at the webm in the op, look how little the enemies attack Samus. Look at the bosses shown so far, they're slow and cumbersome.

This game has a long way to go before it can dethrone Silksong as my GOTY.
