It's a Telltale special. They advertise their game as "narrative experiences" where you shape the character relationships, but not the actual story. It's basically their legal fallback for the incredibly misleading "XXX will remember this" messages that are most times blatantly false.

It makes me appreciate David Cage games since a lot of care goes into his stories to make sure your choices DO matter and the story DOES change and the characters ARE affected. If you combine TWD S1-S3, which is about the length of Detroit, I would think their budgets would be quite comparable especially once you factor licensing into play. Well, you can if you get to the same point before next week. But the game has save slots. If you only care about changing a major choice and if you're on PC, you can go to your save folder (AppData\Local\Dispatch\Saved\SaveGames) and just copy-paste your save file and rename it to SaveSlot1 or 2 or 3. Then just boot up the game and rewind that save to whatever choice you want to change.
