Nintendo historically has been able to convert kids into becoming long term nintendo fans but will they be able to do it to the same degree with the current generation of kids

Furukawa has acknowledged fears of the switch 2 being too expensive for the younger generation and although the switch 2 has been a success (selling 10 million in 4 months) I'd imagine most those sales are coming from older nintendo fans 18+

With children having access to cheap video game entertainment like minecraft,roblox and fortnite will nintendo succeed long term in the current market or will the fall off once the locked in consumers current fans start to age

I don't know the exact intent behind this post, but there is a point here. Sony has done enough to keep new fans around for at least the time being, but do wonder about their longevity outside PlayStation being a strong home for third-parties among casuals. The other two? Valve's big games are mostly close to or over a couple decades old now, and while they definitely have garnered new fans over the years I do wonder how much that pace has kept up over time. Microsoft seems largely fucked outside of Minecraft. Lot of their IP are either dormant or not seeming to land as well among new fans. There's a few exceptions like modern Doom, though even that might not be as sound looking at how Dark Ages did. It's most emblematic with Halo. This should have been an easy multi-generational franchise, but instead I do wonder if it has any chance to recover.

The console itself isn't expensive, it's priced appropriately relative to the PS5 and Xbox SeX, this was always such a retarded point. The games are what's expensive. There is no reason for old ass Nintendo games and remasters to be stuck at $50<, that's just insane. It's not the console that is pricing people out of owning it, it's the games. And Nintendo seem reluctant to fix this issue because they're raking in shitloads of cash from first-party software sales.
It's easier to just play slop if you're a kid these days. Fortnite is free. Skins are cheaper than Nintendo games. Any kid can download CSGO on their family computer for free and they'll probably get a more interesting experience than if they picked up the latest MK game.

I've been saying this because I have a kind of Michael Jackson's wonderland, but for games, and it attracts a lot of kids.
Kids don't see Nintendo the way we did when we were babies. For them, Nintendo is just a device, not a game creator. It would be more like understanding the company as if it were "Sony" (manufacturer of electronic devices) than as if it were "Disney" (creator of fantasies and characters).
I foresee a huge problem for Nintendo in the long run, because its consumers are now 30+ year olds who are reaching that point where they don't care about anything else in life, and the absolute normalfaggots who came with COVID and Animal Crossing. These two bases could evaporate overnight.
That's why Nintendo is making everything open world, in a desperate attempt to capture what kids like in Roblox or Minecraft, but no matter how hard they try, they can't hit the mark.

The real money is in handhelds and I reckon it wouldn't be difficult to make a phone that doubles as a console, with something like a DS controller you'd plug into it.
If I was Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft etc I would spend money on HarmonyOS, the Huawei Android because the company behind it sells mostly telecom equipments, they have ties to the government but so does Microsoft and Intel.

Having a 3rd party company for phone OSes would be enough to justify a game market ruled by handhelds, as for why Android is a bad choice :

The Switch Lite is about as good of a budget Switch 2 as you could get right now. The Switch 2's selling point is the Switch 1's library and cross gen games tiding us over until the Switch 2 has a full library of its own. Having a kid sized, more portable, cheap Switch as an option for them is perfectly fine. It's a better budget option for the Switch 2 than the GBA was for the Gamecube.

Its seriously mindboggling how ahead of anyone else they are. All these vidya wars aret not a matter of wether nintendo is the best videogame company. Its wether being the best is enough for them to survive.

No and the issue isn't the price. It's the games. Every single series Nintendo makes is old as dirt. Zelda is about to turn 40 next year. Even Splatoon is now a decade old. None of these series are fresh. Look at the Nintendo Youtubers and all of them are in their late 30s, early 40s. Nintendo tries to make their series for kids but its old men that play them. If they want to stay relevant, they need to make new series that can capture a new audience. Though that will be harder with their walled garden mentality.

The instant he dies, Valve is almost certainly going to become awfu,l and I'd expect the quality of Steam and their games to degrade rapidly
The only way this' prevented is with a very good successor being chosen but I doubt that'd happen
