Theres a surprising amount of friendlies.
One round i arrived late and 4 guys were taking out a bastion. I chucked one nade and shot it 4 times with a ferro, 2 of them got downed and me and the 1 other guy got to loot it.

Tons of rounds I just pass by people.

On one extract I asked if we can extract together. Guy says yes, doors open, guy pulls out a shotgun and blasts me. The woman or child I passed in the tower earlier who I didnt shoot also was lurking nearby and lit the dude up, knocked him out, and pulled the lever so we both extracted with loot. Saved my ass

Game is actually kinda fun if people cooperate
Like I bet that shitty mortar tank can easily get taken down if a bunch of randoms just take pot shots with ferros from all over the map in cover of windows on the desert city one. There seems to be a weakpoint on its back so every time it turns to shoot someone you can just have someone else hit it there.

But I needed what it broke down into for a different bench upgrade so no, not really. And its not hard to get more. It might seem rare to you, but until you need the item and have to go find it you are often passing by shit you might need for an upgrade later. Rusty gears? Now that I need them I have only 2 of 3. But before knowing I would need them they look like any junk item or water filter or destroyed air filter thing that just recycles into metal bits.

No, if you dont know you can expand the inventory you would get all the green and blue stuff done first and then farm rare shit once you unlock higher tier maps and can farm bigger robots and have keys to areas

It can't even one shot without a shield, it does 40 damage. Shields have charge, but you always take some health damage through shield since its damage reduction. Once the charge of the shield is depleted, you take full damage. So a Ferro hitting you will do 40, break your Green shield and you take a little less than 20 damage directly to your health all with that first shot.

Was doing the 'view the rocket boosters outside of the rocket warehouse' quest and a guy came up to me 'HEY WERE GONNA KILL THAT BASTION I GOT 2 WOLFHOUNDS' so i said yeah sure i got a blaze grenade lets do it. I circled around it, took aggro, hit it with fire nade and his 2 nades completely fucked it up. 3rd guy helped us. 4th guy started to snipe us from the warehouse and we all turned around and dunked on him. Actual answer is the devs added enough quests and upgrades alongside making the Arc just dangerous enough. This led to solo's having social interactions instead of being shoot first like ever other extraction shooter ever made. Groups are fun, but no different from other games.
We'll see how long this lasts, once more people start to shoot on sight others will be forced to or be at a big disadvantage. Making solo's fun though is such a massive boon, as it's a miserable mode for casual players in other extraction shooters

All together creates a very well balanced game where pve is immersive and fun, pvp adds tension and an additional layer of gameplay, but with design decisions that disincentivize pvp compared to other extraction shooters which turn into a faggy min/max sweatfest
My only complaints are that the maps are pretty player-dense and they could easily cut the player count per map/server in half, and that the out-of-raid experience could be streamlined a bit - too many menus/submenus/clicks required to complete quests, access different workbenches, can't top up items by right clicking and buying/crafting new ones straight from inventory, etc.
But otherwise 9/10 great fucking fun game

They're like the only studio to really get UE5 down and working great
The finals runs pretty well considering it uses raytracing for all the lighting, and now ARC runs buttery smooth. So much so in fact that I have a high enough frame rate to use frame gen and can't tell any perceivable difference in input latency (and i think quantifiably it's literally only like 5-7 ms added) and the extra smoothness feels great on a 360 hz OLED
devs that actually care about the games they make end up producing fun and well optimized games that people like to play instead of GamesForEveryone™ with shitty tacked on minigames and grindy mechanics to artificially increase player retention and appeal to the broadest audience, imagine that

I keep a limit of stacks of certain items and sell extras. I have been selling a lot of arc batteries or whatever those shield chargers are you loot from hornets. I shoot a lot of robot drones down. Hornets, wasps, roller balls flame or roller balls explosive. I usually only take 2 shield chargers and bandages w me into a mission. Its rare I need more than 2 and if I do ive usually looted some of the crummy versions i can use in an emergency.

I played this literally one day with a friend, but I kind of quickly learned he doesn't even really want to play duos because single player has more people on mic + i think he kind of just wants easy extractions + easy loot. If you want something old with a similar balance patch history to Overwatch, you only need to look three years ahead. Team Fortress 2 has had almost a thousand patches and released in 2007. As food for thought, depending on how loose you are with the definition of a "balance patch," consider the fact that many arcade games had hidden menus and physical switches to allow the owner to alter the game's difficulty to address his clientele's complaints. People in the 80s were going up to the barkeep and bitching at him until he upped the life count.
If you want to blame something, blame infrastructure improvements and microtransactions. The post-56k world made it trivial (and mostly free) to issue balance patches, and selling DLC and/or hats gave devs a vested interest in the long-term health of a game (as opposed to the pre-2000s, where the money was made as soon as the game was shipped and they had no choice but to move on to making the next product, balance be damned).
None of this is even to defend streamers. They're still a waste of oxygen. I just don't see a point in blaming them for balance patches when all they're doing is regurgitating the opinions their audience already pre-approved for them. I recently reinstalled it after not playing since launch. It's still rough. And they made some kind of baffling change where you can no longer go on raids on whichever map you want. If you want to do the endgame maps that have a decent change of dropping the valuable shit, you now have to run through a confusing tunnel system to get to an overworld map, get to the extract point for that map, which will take you to the tunnel system to navigate through to get to another overworld map. You have to complete this process 4 fucking times to get to one endgame map with no breaks to dump loot. And if you die at any point, you lose everything and it's back to the first tunnel. No one does anything outside of the first maps because it's not worth running through a hour worth of tunnels and maps just to get grabbed by a drone through the wall.

I thought so, played it with my friend and it was basically just constant pvp, exit campers, people hiding round doors etc, solo feels mostly populated by carebears who make for fun interactions and the occasional murderer still keeps you on your toes, arcs are more threatening so it slightly discourages KOS and I feel like the game plays better that way, you can slow down a bit and appreciate all the things that are actually fun and unique about it

Arc Raiders is such a fucking banger man and I used to not even care for extraction shooters much, and in particular hated survival/battle royales, but this shit is fucking fun as hell.

They need to fix the menus a bit cuz its a god damn mess having to sell a third of my 280 item stash every time I am on a win streak, but I shouldn't complain, game is quite accessible and it's super easy to bounce back even after losing your busted out kit, didn't even feel bad today after losing two hullcrackers back to back after failing the trial.

Anyways, biggest fucking gripe I have with the game is the imbalance of solo queue and squad queue.
In solo queue legit 90% of the players are extremely friendly, helpful and willing to cooperate, in random squads half the people don't even use mics and 90% of enemy squads shoot on sight.
I wish there was a better balance (like 70% of solos being friendly and 30% of squads being friendly/cooperative would already be a huge improvement) but I guess herd mentality in squads makes it a PvP haven.
