Meaning if this game keeps going after "season 1", you'll still need to account for some players having Coupé, some having Sonar. So the team will have to adapt every cutscene to reflect player choices.

How do you get rid of that hassle? Turn both of them into the disposable mole, so you can kick them out of the team at the end regardless, that way you never have to work to have both versions be valid. Another way would be to kill off whoever you chose, that way both of them are gone. That also fixes the problem of having to work double.

If they HAVE to do a mole, they could pick anyone in the team other than those two. That way they still get their mole plot, but your choice of keeping either Sonar or Coupé will keep being reflected because they're still part of the team going forward.
