I saw the writer picture none of them actually lift so why write a scene about lifting if you don't know anything about it?

I think Flambe said specifically that normal humans need a spotter. Superheroes don't. It was silly that the game acted like Robert was in any danger with that weight though. Just shrug it to one side and rest the bar on the ground if you're at failure. He had the thing lifted off his chest a few inches.

idk if there's even a oh fuck for squat/deadlift or ohp without the bars though. deadlift/ohp you can drop but if you squat without the safety bars, you're kinda fucked. you can do the drop backwards and get out of the way but it can easily land on your calves and that's gg

bench press solo is the leading cause of death in a gym by a significant margin for a reason. Albeit he could have clarified that safeties or not using clamps would suffice (or having correct but difficult recovery technique where you throw it to your waist), but that would be a lot of dialogue

I've been trying to get in shape lately and I am convinced pull-ups are a psyop. They are not possible and all video evidence to the contrary is AI generated. I went from not being able to do a single push-up to being able to do 6 in like 2 weeks, whereas pull-ups in twice that time I have gone from doing 0 pull-ups to being able to do 0 pull-ups. I can still only barely do an active hang for 30s. If I try to pull myself up from an active hang, literally nothing happens.

try coiling your entire body when you start out. Pull with you legs, and your waste and your back in the beginning. Your muscles can lose the memory of operation, even besides their strength and pull ups are pretty much never done in nature.
I also could not do pull ups all my life until now, where I can do ten if my grip is vertical.

weight and height have a very significant impact on pullups. I'm a bloatlord who can do multiple clapping pushups but can only do about 3~ unassisted pullups which took me years to get to
its not uncommon for people to stagnate on pullups because they increase their weight via putting on more muscle

If you've ever had a job where you perform the same motion again and again, you'll know what I mean. Like a farmer who doesn't look ripped, but just keeps tossing hay bales all day, his body calls upon it's strength more readily.

I also used to struggle with pecflies even though I can bench 2pl8, and squat 3pl8. It's only because the motion is so unusual and not found in daily life, that your body won't call upon it's strength as readily, and it can feel almost like it's not supposed to do that at all.

>I can't give exact amounts
anon...I...
lets do the math and discover why you aren't growing nearly fast enough
>costco chicken
google says your typical rotisserie chicken has roughly 175g protein
>1/3rd every 3 days or so
>thus eating about 1/9th everyday
175/9 = 19.44g
>1-2 cuts of steak every 2 days
varies but a typical sirloin is roughly 25g protein, 2 over 2 days averages to 1 a day
>oikos yogurt
15g protein

generally speaking, you consume (15+25+19.44) 60g protein every day
you weigh 155lbs, the recommended/minimum g protein for hypertrophy is (bodyweight in lbs) x .75
155x.75=116.25
116.25 - 60 = 56.25
you need to consume 56.25 more grams of protein EVERY SINGLE DAY
this is essentially DOUBLING YOUR PROTEIN INTAKE (if I read what you wrote appropriately)

I'd recommend maintaining the same habit while drinking a protein shake with 2 scoops of gold standard whey protein powder (24g per scoop)

anon if I correctly assessed your eating habits, you REALLY need to start eating more protein
your gains will actually really skyrocket (relatively speaking, within the context of what you currently gain)
Anonymous No.725132824 [Report] >>725145126

Do Biceps/Triceps/Shoulder/Chest/Back to failure once a week, whatever the fuck your choice of exercise is. Lower back is fine if you go for hyperextensions, but no deadlifts.
Don't do leg workouts, you cycle every day so screw strength training for legs.

Also eat more protein. You think you have enough, but just eat 4 eggs and 1 block of feta every day as breakfast addition to your current (hopefully very protein heavy) diet of chicken and rice/beans.
Anonymous No.725133105 [Report]

What are you talking about?

At least for men, doing straight leg pull ups in that good is harder. From an L-sit position she is having to use more of her abs to hold the position and engage the legs. You would have some what of a point if she was flopping like a cross fitter or using it for momentum. But she is keeping her body in a pretty set position which requires more active control and uses more muscles.

The only critique I can really see is the speed as she isn't staying all the way down. But given its full extension and clearly for show, it passes.

Unless you're specifically trying to be a bodybuilder or strongman or powerlifter, you should worry less about making metal number go up, and just focus on quality reps with weight you can lift comfortably, with good form for the duration of your set. also desu i dont think you should worry about this shit too much. i have a knee issue that i gained literally like 10 years ago from just running and doing squats too fucking much. it occasionally flares up when i work out and i fail to properly stretch afterwards. it also flares up when i do fuck all with it. i can't stress this enough so i'll put it in spoiler text: it's better to exercise a joint with chronic pain than leave it completely inert[/spoilerl. it recovers faster when you're actually using it and treating it. most of the time, simply leaving it inert creates a bunch of scar tissue around the problem area, and that shit is going to rip off as soon as you stress the joint again.
Anonymous No.725146781 [Report]

And what do you think "gains" refers to, exactly? Could it be "gaining" muscle mass? Tone and mass are different things. You can't make the number go up without worrying about good form and technique, anyways, that's why your shoulder hurts. Do you think you'll suddenly shrink and become scrawny if number doesn't constantly go up? Do you think humans are capable of benching thousands of pounds by the end of their lifespans?
You're hurting at 180, so drop back down to 170, maybe even 165 and make sure your form is perfect. When you can get hit fifteen to twenty quality reps at that weight, then make number go up.
If you're only interested in making number go up, you pick a weight you can lift comfortably for eight to twelve reps.
Eventually, regardless of what you do, you'll hit a wall determined by your genes because humans, naturally, can generally only get so big and so buff. That's when dudes start juicing.
