i've constantly hovered between the end of depth 2 and the beginning of depth 3. i've got friends to play with instead of randoms so my placing has been pretty consistent with them. playing with randoms themselves is a total coinflip. i've had some really good games with them but others have been bad enough that i'm hesitant to play with randoms in deep mode. i honestly would have thought the point system would incentivize randoms to plug less but they do it more than ever in that mode. not to mention some of them love to intentionally sabotage runs.

Been replaying DW8:XL. It's my personal favorite in the mainline series, although the Ambition mode is a little bit too grindy in the first half. I think they should have expanded on that mode instead of continuing to release Empires.

Doom 2 using the mods Going Down, Dakka and Corruption Cards.
It's a lot of fun. Going Down is basically demonic Die Hard where you're descending a tower block filled with monsters only Dakka means the guns are OP and satisfying and CC ensures a shitposty, reverse Risk of Rain situation is occurring where the demons are gaining new and often very silly powers every floor to counter me.

I've only played a little tarkov and the cod warzone.
I really like the idea of pvpve and looting and questing in the map.
Tarkov was too jank, overrun with cheaters, pay to win, the guns were too autistic. Quests were fine. Pve wasn't great.
Cod had a fun map, but the quests were ass. The looting was kinda boring, but I liked the shooting. Pve was eh.

Killing drones is fun, right now they are still scary if a big one comes out or a bunch of them swarm. The pve feels good.
Actually runs pretty well, at least compared to all the other recent garbage.
Tarkov guns and stuff are waaaaayyy too autistic for me. The gearing is simple and upgraded gear doesn't feel like you are 100% immune to a lesser geared person.
It has an ok time to kill, often enough to react if you aren't a shitter instead of "i just got insta blasted from 200M away."

Very frustrating at times but somehow still fair because of how accurate the AI was sometimes and how easy it was to melee enemies. Shitty bosses, a lot of bullet sponges and it's definitely inferior to OG 4, but I'd still give it a 7/10.

Finally sat down and beat Dead Rising 2 for the first time recently. I like Chuck as a protagonist and it's more of what I loved about the first game so it's like a solid 8 for me. The last stretch of the game is what drags it down with the annoying gas and pointless fetch missions for TK acting as padding but otherwise it's fan-tastic! Gonna play Off The Record after I'm done fucking around. Oh and I'll forever be mad that Rebecca got killed when she was one of the best characters in the game. Her chemistry with Chuck was great in every scene they had together.

EU5: I've never played a GSG before but I think I'm having fun

Project Zomboid: I have no idea what I'm doing and I've been enjoying the game though I barely play most days, I just don't care.

36 soon, been playing Super Robot Wars Original Generation (the PS2 version, it's a compilation remake of the two OG GBA games). If you like that sort of game it's pretty kino. OG1/2 were really great games to start with and this release fixes the issues I had with them. Fully fan-translated too.

Stalker 2. It's pretty ok actually. It does feel like a stalker game despite being UE5. If there is asset store slop it is not noticeable. I think most of their original game engine must be running underneath because all the animations and the way boxes break, clip through the items inside, then randomly go flying across the room feels exactly like the og physics lmao. I put the graphics on the lowest possible settings which seems to be the only way to get a smooth framerate with a 3060. Still hate modern fuzzy graphics look. It is cool that you can see all the way to the power plant from any high point though. It's also fun to revist a lot of iconic locations from the original game. The bandits in garbage have seriously downgraded their music taste though. Choosing to side with Ward, they seem to be the Duty equivalent.

No, I've broken the game state twice now and had to load a previous save. Typical Stalker experience though. I managed to beat Clear Sky back in the day before the gamebreaking bugs were fixed by skirting the areas that triggered the crashing events.

Like I said sorry I can't help much with AFKing. I blazed through my one 35 alt by basically getting into Fallen Brax asap but this was also before the big 0.2 change with mana regen becoming a bigger deal and the entire full mob balancing. Obviously you would want some mobs a bit lower level that you can easily and quickly kill; plus you can always up the respawn rate through the server admin panel. I remember killing a bunch of the faeries at Ripper's Keep for some item(s) on my main clear; they're late 20s. A few camps by the lake opposite the keep of the Sivakayan side slash hidden dungeon entrance.
If you're not aware of its existence, the wiki is a great repository too. Shows zone/dungeon(s); their levels; enemies and their levels; etc.

Metal Slug 1st and 2nd mission - Good considering the hardware. Though the parachute sections in 1st mission are shockingly bad, because you cannot avoid the projectiles and they 1 hit kill you.

Konami Wai Wai World - Good but far too difficult and requires the "scroll fix" IPS patch.
Dynamite Headdy - Ok, playing it just because i want to tick it off so i can move on to better treasure games like Sin/Punishment.
Phantasy Star IV - Very good. The manga panel cutscenes are wonderful and i can't believe more games don't do it.
Bonze Adventure (arcade) - A great little ghosts n goblins-esque platformer. I absolutely love Taito arcade games so this is right up my alley.

I'm playing a bunch more stuff but that'll do for now.

I didn't play the original but it's a solid JRPG. It starts pretty slow and low stakes but obviously builds into something grand. The world is super interesting and the combat is engaging. I genuinely get the vibe that I am playing the early episodes of an S-tier anime. modded fallout 4. havent played since release when i ran through it vanilla. i'm about 40 hours into this new playthrough and the story is finally picking up a bit as i just got the courser chip decoded. i am playing on survival with all sorts of difficulty and immersion mods so the game is pretty brutal. traversing the glowing sea in a rusty set of shitty power armor looking for virgil was an hour-long experience of frantically minigunning radscorpions and deathclaws at distance, as the armor could only take a few hits. i have since joined the BoS so i will be returning in my sick cunt T60 with a gatling laser to get my revenge and finally get into the institute.

Doing a casual nuzlocke of pokemon ultra moon. New releases always put me in the mood to play more so I'm replaying my favourite game in the series (and I say this free of that insidious cloud of nostalgia affecting my judgement). Alola is just so comfy, and they're probably the closest thing to "challenging" as far as vanilla pokemon games go.
I like this series more than I would as lief admit. It's just such an elegant formula; it's impossible not to enjoy it.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin. My fourth time going through the story mode now, just about halfway through. I plan on doing Cyclic Warrior for DLC since I never gave it a chance, but I'm trying to mix up my classes throughout the main story.

Oddly I may have hit a small roadbump of depression. I usually do far more activities outside and now I'm being put further and further indoors due to the encroaching cold. My indoor hobbies are honestly quite patient; such as wine crafting, indoor growing, making my own medicines, crafting items from bones. Etc.

Majesty 9/10, I love this game. It's full of charm and it's awesome to see your dudes going around, leveling up and getting strong. I always loved RTS games but never played one of these indirect control games, it's very good. Some of the scenarios so far are also quite challenging, the game's no pushover.

Depending on what friends play, I sometimes also join MP games like:
Space Marine 2 8/10 for the PvE co-op, it's fun and satisfying and I like that a bunch of the classes really feel different to play, though I think the "press button to invulnerable" combat style is a fundamental weakness (it forces the game balance to make your huge, armored space marine guy feel like he's made of wet tissue paper, especially on Absolute difficulty)

Darktide 8.5/10 - combat is amazing and very satisfying and there's quite a bit of variety in terms of builds and play styles available, and I enjoy many of them. The game was way shittier years ago on release, right now I think the main remaining issue it still has is that a lot of the levels and environments are extremely same-y and unremarkable, making this game hive city only is hurting it.

Battlefield 6 6.5/10 - core gameplay is alright but most of the maps suck and don't feel like BF, variety is fine but there's way too much urban infantry meatgrinder shit in the game right now. Challenges suck absolute ass. Overall the game can be fun when all the pieces fit together, but I think less than half of the matches I played were actually fun in the end, there's something about this game that doesn't make it feel fun and satisfying even if I do well in a match and I think the shit maps are chiefly to blame.

I'm not the guy with wrist pain, but I literally only move my wrist and/or fingers, wrist for left/right, combination for up/down movement. Moving my whole forearm sounds very annoying and cumbersome, that shit must take so much space on your table.

I prefer single player. Single player is superior. I hate multiplayer, because I have to take the responsibility, accountability, and carry the entire team. Whatfor? There are no rewards for it, yet the difficulty increases expontentially for no reason. I play the game of life the way I want. Been playing Pokemon Legends ZA and despite retards that didn't play the game saying otherwise and screeching about window textures or bugs that don't happen on an actual Switch 2, the game is actually extremely good. It's disappointing to think they'll just completely abandon this game's battle system after this and never come back to it ever.

Also tried Metal Gear Triangle's Fox Hunt mode, pretty whatever. Tried to play Vanquish for the first time ever, I love all of Platinum's other shit, but Vanquish is just a pretty meh third person shooter with a bunch of flash. No sick combos or anything really of note in general, at least in the first two acts.
