Compare modded oldrim and modded skyrim today and the difference is staggering.
Skyrim really only shows its age in animations, physics, quest design and voice acting variety.
But honestly, with some mods, it still has some things that not even modern rpgs don't have like say locational dismemberment and gore. This is one of the reasons why I'm probably gonna be stuck with this game for another decade and possibly forever.

That's the thing. For some reason I don't get tired of it. I have been playing skyrim for over a decade now and I still don't get bored of the riverwood->bleakfalls barrow->whiterun->dragon cycle for example.
It's also because I play with different mods every time, so I can say for certainty none of my playthroughs have been exactly identical.
And this is just skyrim.
My fallout 4 playthroughs are even wilder because of how much more sandboxy that game is. I've played that one as a WH40k game, a grimdark WW2 game, a russia-ukraine war sim, a zombie apocalypse survival game with pissing mechanics, and a horror survival game where there's a little ghost girl haunting you 24/7

That only happens if you're using outfits that are not supported by body types. For example, UNP outfits generally are not compatible with CBBE so you have to find or make a CBBE bodyslide for that outfit otherwise you're going to have invisible meshes.

Unless you're a modder yourself, bodyslide doesn't do that automatically for you.
What bodyslide does is literally just be a slider so you can edit what body shapes the outfit comes with.
Bodystudio is what you use make compatibility patches for outfits but if you don't know how, just look up the appropriate bodyslide for the outfit.
Many outfit mods nowadays clearly mention which body type the outfit is made for i.e. 3BA, BHUUNP, etc. and surely enough some kind soul will also have a bodyslide patch somewhere in nexus or loverslab so you can use it what with ever body type you're using.

I kinda wish the world was larger and cities further away from each other. It was pretty good for 2011 considering the graphics of the environment, but I wouldn't mind if the map was double the size so journeys on foot actually take some time. NTA, but the big issue I have with starting fresh is the sheer number of options and the issue with mod frameworks with dependencies on dependencies of dependencies that do not work together with some mods, but can with others if you install the dependency compatibility patch.

Made an insane modded game with excellent combat gameplay and visuals during covid spending months adding mods.
Backed it up, and rarely play it now because new mods might break it and I don't want to spend that long perfecting it again.

Ah fuck pandora. This thing broke a lot of my killmove animations. My skyrim folder is kind of a clusterfuck right now so there's probably a ton of fragmented animations from both nemesis and fnis at this point.

Yes, 3bftweaks made me play this game and actually take characters to late game. I usually install skyrim once every year then get bored 5 hours into a playthrough after a month of modding it. I've been playing it non stop for a year and a half now ever since I discovered 3bf. Started getting into permadeath, build randomizers, etc. If you cba make your own list then you can download LaLaLand modpack which is 3bf+nice visuals or Wanderlust which is 3bf+visuals+custom difficulty mechanics. You can also make your own list with visuals + 3bf only because you really won't need any garbage half assed mod like simonrim or enairim anymore. This is a complete overhaul of requiem which is a massive overhaul in itself. It touches perks, blessings, birthstones, armors, weapons, magic, stealth, you name it.

To add: the reason why 3bf plays nicely is because its a complete experience contained within one man's vision. When you mod the game yourself, you sacrifice coherence for freedom but then realize the experience is lackluster because there are no stakes. This overhaul makes food matter, gold matters, economy is no longer about hoarding items and selling them to vendors, shouts matter, alchemy/enchanting/smithing is no longer mandatory because you have dozens of custom sets hand placed around the world, you won't need Experience+static skill leveling because it is integrated by default into the mod. I recommend it to anyone who's looking for a fresh take on skyrim
