Leads to incredibly slow and boring encounters. Enemies are too slow while having no form of intensity while Master Chief moves like he has a turd up his ass. I fully understand why only Halo's big outside missions with vehicles were heavily loved while no one liked the indoor missions. On foot combat in Halo is just not fun and the weapons aren't satisfying at all to use.

No, it's one based on experience. The AR has shit range, but they all do. What it does to make up for this is having a gigantic magazine and fast fire rate to make the impact of missed shots minuscule. It also pierces enemies, which makes it an amazing crowd control weapon against Grunt and Jackal squads.
3 nerfed the shit out of its fire rate and ammo, without really offering much aside from [barely] increased accuracy. Reach took the same design philosophy as 3, but made it even weaker by cutting its damage.
CE's AR put into literally any other Halo game would completely dominate close range, as seen by Halo 5's SMG, which is still slightly weaker than CE's AR.

Nah, that's the spiker, a gun that is worse than the AR in literally every way. It doesn't even win out when dual wielding. Maybe it can beat out an AR if you have a plasma rifle, but the two weapons never spawn close to one another so you have to really go out of your way for that combo. And why would you waste all that time when you could just get a BR? Or even a single plasma rifle that is more reliable than a spiker.
The AR is manageable, while not being ideal. It can spray and punch someone faster than most weapons in the game.

I can agree with that, I like the idea of having a larger reticle and having the gun snap to anything within that reticle, it makes it a bit more forgiving than having to align 1 pixel with your target.
I don't like when the entire screen snaps to a target and follows it around without your input, that's way too much.
