nintendo tried to do their own thing but with kart racers you really need to deliver on quality gameplay first and foremost, not that the gameplay in mario kart is bad, but there are a lot of baffling design decisions that lead to an overall inferior experience to sonic racing where they put all their attention on making the gameplay feel varied and fun, keeping you in online matches, letting you customize vehicles, etc, no wasted dev time on features nobody asked for

>will it ever be topped ?
No. Why?
Because the game gives you the choice to tell it to fuck off.
All the faggots that complain about the game moralizing and chastising the player forget that you can shoot the Marlon Brando colonel acting as a mouthpiece for the writers, then shoot the guys that come to rescue you and their reinforcements. Or don't shoot the soldiers, and instead let Walker walk away if you prefer the hopeful ending.
Just for this reason alone, it is superior to any of the other games it is compared to.
That's the true filter of this game. Dumb people don't realize they're given the choice to disagree with the message the game conveys, and instead get angry because a story said something they didn't like which made them go boohoo.
I honestly like this game more for its role as a pleb filter than for the gameplay or the story or anything like that.

Honestly I think one of the big reasons why the sequels were so mediocre was that Curse of the Black Pearl was actually intended to be a one-off film, its success led the Disney higher-ups to demand more films, and the writers and producers had to improvise.

Zelensky: He will never give up Ukrainian territories that have not been conquered by Russia, and he will never recognize any Ukrainian territory as Russian.

Putin: He has no real interest in ending the war, he is just fine with even the slow and small progress russian army is making; he just wants to buy time before Trump imposes more sanctions and shift the blame onto Zelensky for the failure to reach a peace deal.

Considering this, nothing will happen.

Here's the question I think everyone should be asking instead of "was it about slavery or states' rights?"...

Would the Civil War have occurred without slavery?

Let's say slavery winds up being outlawed at the Constitutional Convention of 1787 after George Washington gave some really impassioned speech advocating abolition that swayed everyone to vote for it on the spot. Would the Civil War still eventually happen due to other issues that would still have been relevant such as Nullification or people getting mad over taxes (which triggered the the Whiskey and Shay Rebellions that presaged the Civil War)?

I'm gonna guess that the Tigers were actually a decent force at one point, but by late-2024, they had atrophied like the rest of the SAA. The Syrian Civil War went on for nearly 12 years before the regime finally fell, that's a long time. You would have had multiple generations of men serving in the unit. Very few who joined the unit when it was originally formed in 2013 would have still been on active duty by 2024, those who were would likely have since been transferred to other units and/or suffering from "burnout".

Speaking of which, what happened to Suhayl al-Hasan anyway? Wikipedia and the scant news sources I could find just say he's believed to be in hiding.

I'd say both yes and no, it's complicated.

On one hand, in the past you would have been desensitized to death at a much earlier age simply because life was much harder. Your mother dying in childbirth, your father dying in a workplace accident, your brother or sister dying of illness would've been far more common. Even if it didn't happen to you specifically, it would have happened to others you knew.

On the other hand, I don't think human psychology has actually changed that much over the millennia, we're simply subjected to different stimuli now. Also such experiences wouldn't necessarily have produced tougher people. It would just as easily have produced broken people. The town drunk probably didn't become a drunk just because he enjoyed alcohol a little too much, but because he lost little sister to smallpox as a boy and turned to self-medication to cope with the trauma. The bandit who robs and kills people didn't end up that way because he's just a psycho who enjoys murder, but because his wife died in childbirth and his grief is so extreme that he simply lashes out at everyone in a never-ending fit of rage.

>if you do execute him, the Karstarks will ride back home
>if you don't execute him, all the other Northern lords will think you're a weakling and that they can also get away with similar acts of disloyalty with a slap on the wrist

I'd say executing Karstark was ultimately the right choice, because the consequences of not doing so could have been far worse than losing one House's loyalty
