assault is the only class i cant win with when i have bad teammates. scout, heavy, tact, i can always kill thropes and push through. bulwark and vangaurd are heal bots so you can prop up bad teammates. but with assault you are fucked. assauly can kill packs of majoris like anyone else but he is dead weight compared to the other classes

You could not really see what the shielded thrope was doing, and the one you jumped had not attacked for a second or two, meaning it would attack soon. Should have waited for it to attack so you could dodge easily or use the cover, then go for the jump immediately after, that ensures it would be recovering.
Ideally you would have also checked to see if the other thrope had attacked recently or if its aggro was focused on a squad mate.
Additionally, you should have considered waiting for them to swap shields before leaping because it had been a while since they swapped, it would be very annoying if they swapped shield while you were mid slam.
These are all things I have learned from fighting them as a Melta Vanguard and learning when to use the hook and start blasting melta.
But again, in your particular situation you really should have used cover for longer, at least until you can get the perfect opening as I described.

Highly recommend the new Angron Red paint for your Blood Angels when the DLC drops. A little more muted and matte instead of bright and glossy, I personally think it looks much better. Helps the preset battle damage on the armor stand out a little more which adds texture.
Likewise, for the Lamenters, use Bad Moon Yellow over Flashgitz Yellow. Similar result in what it achieves.

The logic behind this is you can still take both of these for a standard Jump Pack build, but now you can take Manoeuvrability for a Wings of Flame jump dodge build to keep the charges up as fast as possible. The additional logic is that Precision Strike fucking sucks cock with Zealous Blow, it's not an ideal combination due to the reduced AOE impact zone. So you're not really missing anything here.
After that, I'd buff the following-

Even on Absolute, you are not going through your ammo and 3 full refills in any map section as you move through the operation.

the real show of incompetence is their nitpicking in dealing with issues, instead of just adjusting key points that are the root of the issue they fight symptoms.

the issue of nonexistent readability is especially true for block weapons. no tooltips for any of that, no explanation how adrenaline stacks actually work. new players are entirely dependant on having experienced players explain it to them. this is also true for stuff like pommel strike actually counting as the shield bash when you are using thammer on bulwark.
but what really drives me up the wall is that you have all this retarded weapon sharing and assault STILL sucks ass. the class did not get any meaningfull buff since release, despite clearly needing it.
at launch there was a short misinfo flying around that sniper is underpowered, but people quickly realized that assault actually is the class that sucks the most. he got almost nothing since then. even the stuff he gets via prestige absolutely PALES in comparison to the MMO-flowchart shit vanguard & sniper got. and both of those classes are already top picks without any prestige perks.

30 seconds for one armour segment sounds nice but I have a hard time seeing it being useful - if you trade it to deal damage you might as well have just regained the damage with CHP instead, and if you really want to play safe there are lots of ways of quickly getting armour back in other ways

I personally think Heavy gets slept on as a class when it comes to talk of who's the most powerful. Vanguard feels strong because he has lots of outs for terrible mistakes. Once you get the heal on Extremis execute, he's by far the easiest to solo Absolute with, because he constantly gets free medkits in a mode where almost none exist. Bulwark when perked up and played properly just never takes damage and bursts anything stupid enough to get close to him, AND he's immune to ranged damage and ranged stagger.
I have a gut feeling the Chaos Spawn enemies will have something equivelant to the psyhokinetic blowback that Nids have.

So the combos are confusing to get down

I also like taking both the alternate attacks, shoulder bash is really quick and shadow stab is a nice utility tool if the enemy doesn't walk away from it

Then you get into extremis that would need the entire squad to focus to kill in a reasonable time frame, which obviously wouldn't be possible if everyone's fighting for their lives against 50 gaunts and 10 warriors.
It would be the most difficult darktide mission by far even on SM2's lowest difficulty, some of the higher difficulties probably wouldn't even be theoretically possible.

Grind itself? In short you will need to level up your guns to unlock perks and weapon variants of each tier (some guns are shared across different classes so those are one and done). You do that with currency called armory data.
And as for overall leveling you have 25 levels to go through. On top of it there are 4 prestige levels, each one resets your class to level 1 (weapons remain untouched), once you reach 25 again you're clear to move to the next prestige level and you gain a perk for that. Essentially there are 125 levels per character if you decide to prestige.
Oh, and there are in game challenges - ordeals, that reward you with yet another set of currency that you use to unlock entries in database. After reaching a certain number of unlocks you will receive minor cosmetics.
All things considered it's a solid game, it's just the devs that often make decisions one makes while being high as a kite.

The assault ground pound kills is the easiest. Just spend two jump pack charges doing ground pounds and you'll rack up 5 kills in no time.
