its a mix of hack and slash + third person shooter + quick time events. those execute animations make you invincible and heal your character so you can use them strategically, but yes there are a lot of animations you have to sit through, but you can play in a way that ignores them. overall its a pretty mediocre game but you get to play as a space marine

the regular pistol is really good, hip fire it between attacks or when you are waiting for a second stack of block. or if you need to push a majoris into execute. then you can also headshot minoris. i use the ammo variant. its my favorite pistol, but i feel you need plasma vs chaos
