I feel story gives a big chunk, maybe like 5k. You'll want to do it, to unlock stuff through interknot level and all the resources to level up agents. Shiyu Defense was a big part of it, I think it gives 8 x 300 for getting S rank in all of them but you will need minimum lv55 and properly geared characters. There is the endless tower that gives a good amount too for the first 15 levels, but it's (near) endgame stuff, you'll need a level 55ish DPS with proper gear and some proper subrolls. Weekly Hollow Zero gives stuff.
I skip everything in story. It takes less than a day to power through everything. It's easier to mash through skip on a controller.

When you can plan all of your routes so you end up with 3-5 Gears and their full set of Resoniums, you jut become hyper powerful.

But when you can't plan your routes, every single piece of Resonium suddenly becomes precious, and gears suitable for your Resoniums even more so. It really does spike the difficulty of the game.

As in Lycaon/Rina/Corin. That way if Rina Ex's or Ult's Corin gets the quick assist. You generally wanna use Rina before Corin anyways since you want the short PEN% buff to be active on your DPS.

Corin does okay in DA (especially with the upcoming Physical shilling) but severely lacks AoE in Shiyu Defense.

If you like Yi Xuan she's a pretty good pickup for a new player since you're basically guaranteed the panda as her support, making them a fairly F2P friendly, self sufficient team. If you don't just pick up any of the next upcoming limited DPS agents to carry you.

My early game team's were Anby/Rina/Corin and Ben/Lucy/Piper and once I got Zhu to blast nibbers it felt pretty good.

2 piece woodpecker

Disc 4 ATK
Disc 5 ATK
Disc 6 Impact
You need 6 Crit Rate +1 sub stacks. So you just need to roll +1 on 5 out of six pieces.
You will also need to roll 4 +1 ATK% sub stats with some flat ATK here and there which is more difficult because you have 2 atk% discs that can't roll atk% substats but not as bad as you're making out.
But you need to run Koleda or Lycaons wengine. Preferably Koleda's because it gives good off field energy regen.
With the free standard wengine this is very doable.
Not hard to hit these breakpoints at all.
With a high ATK A rank piece like Pulchra or Anby's engine, you'll need to hit 2 more atk% substats and or mix in some flat atk substats elsewhere which becomes more difficult.
Obviously you can just not run Impact and slot in ATK on disc 6 with crit rate on disc 4 while you're farming better substats.
