Well, yeah, it makes more sense that the game is punishing you for killing someone who's begging to be spared. Even if Kako dealt the blow it was still your choice to make Takumi decide to finish her off, you'd have to be silly to not expect something bad to happen. There is absolutely zero reason to believe Eito is actually cured and a good guy(tm) in SF. Even the "we can escape the loop if everyone is alive at the end" goal might just be him fucking around, there's no confirmation of any kind that you actually left the loop at the end. Kodaka wrote both the prologue and 2nd Scenario. Together they form one complete story that is thematically coherent and doesn’t leave any major loose ends.
Uchikoshi wrote SF. It’s totally disconnected from everything that happens in the actual main plot, which makes sense because he apparently wrote it without any input from Kodaka at all. It resolves nothing and serves as a relatively unsatisfying ending, unless you think “and then they lived happily ever after the end” is a satisfying ending. There’s no reason to think that it’s the “true ending” outside of its own insistence that it deserves to be called the true ending.
I say this as someone who really enjoyed most of SF, and who prefers Hiruko over Nozomi. But it’s just a fact that 2nd Scenario is the superior ending, when judged as an ending to the game’s actual plot.

The Cursed Cycle being something like humanity taking over the planet, living there for a while only to ruin it again, fuck off into their satellite and stay in orbit for an eternity, potentially using their time travel tech, until the planet is healed and then take it back from the Futurans that developed in the meanwhile again over and over

What I think happened is that earth reached a point where a group of humans found it no longer inhabitable and created the artificial satellite to leave in and look for a new place to live, the satellite was overtaken by G'ie who turned it into their mothership and eventually returned to earth which had become habitable to humans again (now called futurans) this is possibly because of Hemoanima or some other plot thing. Humans living inside of the breeding grounds of the G'ie kidnapped Shion and created the clones so that the planet would no longer be inhabitable by the G'ie because everything would be dead, I don't believe that the humans are aware currently that G'ie can travel through bloodspace though.

Yeah, I had similar thoughts after finishing the game. Basically, I don't think Uchikoshi's story ideas are necessarily bad. He'd do decently well as a scenarist working with someone else, for example, like you said, with Kodaka. When I initially heard about them basically making this game together, I thought that maybe it'd work out that way, but unfortunately, it didn't. Well my autistic brain just started coming up with this fanfic of a dlc route for a more happier scenario of Takumi following Sirei´s order to come back to 1st defense academy.

shortly after day 20, maybe a new decision comes up that somehow leads to a Hiruko and Takumi from an alternate timeline, not the S.F one since Hiruko didn´t give two fucks about fixing the retsnom timeline, burning the library or at least that specific book, so this version of Darumi Takumi, and Shion never discover more information about Retsnom and its location

Maybe after hearing the constant shit from everyone about whining not having enough fighters, and Takumi getting so much shit thrown at him, he and Darumi just say fuck it and leave the school. Maybe it´s just them fending for themselves in the ruins for 80 days. Takumi can actually get to know Darumi without anything going wrong. With a final decision at the end leading to two endings, one is going back to the school to the escape shuttle (probably a bad end since the academy is likely fucked and everyone else is dead), and the other is just them deciding to stay and live on Futurum. During this 100 days, we´ll probably see them run into the commanders and Kamyuhn and we could get to learn more about them

Could probably be called survivor route or something. Could also be a cool challenge mode route since you´ll only have two sdu members and you have to beat every battle, including commander fights, huge waves of enemies, etc, without dying since they´re are no recovery drones

We´ll have to wait how they handle dlc, if it´ll be a new clean slate like Takumi time traveling again with a cheaper version of second scenario in 3rd scenario, and that has a bunch of new routes, or if they do add new branches to already existing ones

I figured it was to help her be a buffer, but as you said, damage thresholds work out to where she can 2-shot or just flat-out 1-shot every mob in the game. No fatigue with 15 movement on a 6 tile basic attack is crazy. Not that the combat is especially difficult or anything, there's not enough enemy types to consider the game hard even if you don't max out Tsubasa Car.

I just cleared the game 4 times. Is it possible to rescue everyone? I'm assuming that having no characters dying is the best ending. Also, will Darumi have any focus to her character? Not really much of a fan of her since she's an annoying one note character.
