Let it be known that if it were up to an average PoE1 player, the game would involve zero negative (for player) effects, no debuffs, no detrimental effects, no trade-offs to be made, no decisions to be made, items would have one mod only (rolls either "good" or "bad"), gameplay would essentially be "click to start a cutscene of rapidly changing bright colours on the screen" (of course, no player interaction would be required during the viewing), at end of which a little table (nothing too complicated or mentally demanding) would show up, listing how many [BIG IMPORTANT CURRENCY ITEM]s were assigned to the player characters stash (they automatically would transfer there, no need to manually move them). A single click of a button would teleport the player character instantly to either a boss fight of their choosing or to a map-style content, where cutscene viewing would again take place, followed by the bing-bing-wahoo deposit screen, ad infinitum. League updates, sometimes, would consist of adding a NEW button to the boss/map content selector, which would remain unclicked for days after league launch, as PoE1 average players have no inherent curiosity nor drive towards experimentation. The second-button clicker statistical outliers would be mocked and ridiculed, as obviously doing so would impair the bing-bing-wahoo collecting. Then, in the second week, one of the Thought Leaders would start preaching the validity of the Second Button and the entire playerbase would abandon the original boss/map button clicking for the newly added one. Every league the same scenario would play out, in the same fashion. This is not only what average PoE1 player wants, this is what already is in place, up to a certain point.
If ARPGs are ever to make a comeback, these "people" must be driven out of game communities. And the only way to to do that is to kill the streamer Thought Leaders. 0.2 did a fine job with it's humiliation ritual, but this is just the first step.

Somewhere down the line someone created a heist guide and everyone just started parroting it. Everyone always says the best way to heist is to just speedrun blueprints and ignore everything else but you might as well just be heisting forever until you jackpot on a simplex. By far the majority of my money comes from quality gems and GCPs, which you can reliably double the amount of using "chance to duplicate basic currency" affixes on your heist gear.
Not sure if it's just people trying to not crash the GCP market but even on a blueprint I get exactly jackshit from, as long as I get about 2 gem rooms per wing, im walking out with a little under a divine's worth of GCPs for every 20 chaos blueprint (10c for bp + reveal costs in markers)

Ill never understand this defensive shit.
How do I prevent my guy from taking tons of damage? Like stat wise, what am I looking to achieve? I have 90% phys damage reduction, and 80% resistances. My guy last league just didn’t take damage for some reason, and I’m struggling to notice what was different about his stats. I get literally one shot by like average unique enemies. My hp is pretty low only around 4K, but last league I definitely wasn’t noticing half my energy shield bar being taken away by like the most average bitch on the map. I think the main difference is I don’t have high evasion and im not using a shield. Shields prevent like so much damage so does dodging. I’ve never rolled an armor toon before.

First you have to tell us what build and ascendancy you chose, that tells us what defensive layers you have access to. Secondly, you want to solve for primarily three scenarios, "one large hit of damage", "many small hits of damage", and "damage over time". Flat reduction like resistances, HARD phys/ele damage reduction (from stuff like endurance charges and item affixes, not your stat screen), converting phys to ele (resistance is better than armour unless you have a ton), and having a high life and es pool address this. Recovery addresses the latter two scenarios.
You just gotta google ways to deal with those three scenarios.

Ailments and cursed -> increases the amount of damage you take
So fundamentally I mean, we’re just looking to cap every one of these stats. How we go about doing this will differ based on how much we can spend. It’s not like last league where we got to use a shield and evasion shit which was like by default way better defensively. I guess jewels provide a lot of flexibility for somewhat cheaply. Just need to get a lethal pride and some type of prismatic jewel, and also ailment immunity. For me I mean. Also getting spell suppression capped will be huge. And probably higher life.

I think there's a huge misunderstanding regarding WASD movement in PoE between the community and GGG.
I think, that GGG thinks that when people ask for WASD movement, that they are asking for the same system as in PoE2, where you can move and attack/cast at the same time, which is why they always say they need to do rigging work etc.
BUT most people just mean that they don't want click to move.
PoE has perfectly fine movement with the controller, just let us bind that to the keyboard and leave the rest as is and almost everybody would be happy.

The topside of the tree's defenses are ass compared to the bottom. At the very least, you need to be going hybrid ES/HP, stack phys damage taken as with some decent regen and dedicate most of your auras to defense just to not fall over to blue mobs in maps.

A locus of corruption or doryani's institute is worth about 45c right now, and you can double it by putting in an incursion scarab of timelines on the last map.
If you don't get a room worth selling, then run the temple yourself and clear the apex and currency rooms at least. Apex has about 5% chance to drop ambition, which is a piece needed to make the adorned jewel. Grace aura effect unique belts are also worth multiple divines, and rare items with incursion exclusive mods are often worth crafting too, especially incursion glove mods. The average apex kill is probably worth upwards of 20c.

Basic Jewels are really easy and fun to craft. But they aren’t efficient to buy in bulk because a bad rolled jewel is so cheap. So you pick up every jewel, and then craft them all at once. First, scour every jewel. Next, transmute it to make it magical quality. Then you alt/aug spam until you get 2 good stat lines. Good stats for jewels are 2 of a similar type. So an example would be attack speed with axes, and attack speed. Then you regal orb this (regals are very cheap), and hope you get a third good mod. These jewels are efficient to craft. But the best jewel will always have either increased life or increased energy shield. So like a jewel with 2 attack speed mods and a decent third mod is still gonna be like 20c. And a jewel with a life or es mod and 2 attack speed mods will be like 100c or more. A jewel with many crit multiplier rolls or many flat elemental damage rolls etc. So just basically you’re looking to get the exact same type of mod on each line. Stats like all res, mana reserve efficiency, double attribute rolls or int, also can be somewhat valuable. These are like C tier rolls, on their own they aren’t very good, but if they’re on a jewel with 2 or 3 good mods, this can overall be a decent enough jewel that somebody might be willing to trade you some chaos orbs for. Like if we look at this from a time investment perspective. Picking up every jewel, and then crafting like 100 of them at once, will be more profit per minute than not picking them up and doing another map instead. Its also kinda fun for some reason.

After the issues at league start I ended up just going ssf and tried it since I never had before, and while it kills things (not really bosses) I don't understand all the comments I read about it being fun and people loving it.
It clears maps and I remember far more rare mobs exploding without all the white mobs rather then a white mob causing a chain reaction and clearing the yellow mobs.
