It's obvious you wrote it pretty quickly, since a lot of the dialogue and prose is very "expository", but I like the premise of Susie trying to cheat death and ultimately failing. Susie works really well for that kind of "selfish selflessness", making massive decisions about their future without telling him, and just assuming he'd be okay with it. Especially at the end, with "Susie" continuing to lie to him to spare his feelings. Or maybe I'm just interpreting it entirely wrong. Either way, I like it.
It's also nice seeing other interpretations of the old "Meta Knight outliving his loved ones" angle, since you can go in a lot of different directions with it.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I only wrote it all under three hours so most of the writing was dedicated to getting the main "points" and concepts across in the story. I like that idea too, with Susie's general beliefs and upbringing she'd see little to no issue with trying to cheat the natural order even if it's at the expense of herself and others. Susie knows that for her "plan to work" she would have to die first and foremost, the her mistake is that the organic her died sooner than she had planned prior hence the shitty clone. As long as she has the final say, the final action, it's fine in her head.
Susie isn't a good person, and I try to continue to show that even if she's in a good place like a relationship with Meta Knight. Her ego comes first, hence why she believes it's fine for her to seamlessly replace herself with a clone if she dies without even telling Meta Knight because she believes that it's for the greater good. No, you didn't misinterpret it wrong. AI-Susie still continues to spare Meta Knight's feelings which I included so that it gives off the implication that even beyond she would continue her ways. Selfish selflessness is a good way to describe it.

Thanks. I was inspired by the MetaTiff Anon's fic, it was so good. I wanted to try writing something with a similar theme, but with a inverse of Susie dealing with the fact that he's going to outlive her and taking things into her own hands instead.

It really depends on what you deem as legitimate and which Meta Knight. As for Anime Meta Knight? Tiff, no doubts about it. There isn't really a contest to be had. Well, now that I'm graduated n unemployed, I've decided I'll take up translating the firs FL novel to keep practicing my Japanese. I'm doing things somewhat scuffed and transcribing from the physical novel into a word document, but I want to take that as practice for typing in Japanese if nothing else. Nobody was fighting over what was canon or what isn't and theory crafted how the story connects until Kumazaki decided all extra content isn't canon now

Meta Knight wasn't being treated like a joke character, he was the dude who killed the strongest warrior in the galaxy, but then he got mindfucked by a E-girl, and after that Galacfa, who he rightfully fought in an amazing battle, got oneshotted by a butterfly in a later entry, tarnishing Meta Knight's image and ruining his coolest moment in the franchise of defeating the galaxy's greatest foe

And speaking of Morpho, the whole retcon with it being a soul reaper that can just one shot characters this whole time is so fucking ass, it retroactively turns all the cute endings into something edgy "dude it TRIED to eat Dedede in RTDL!" and not to mention it was just fucking around doing nothing on popstar for 25 years. Why didn't Nova summon this guy in Meta Knightmare if he was always there? why didn't it go after Drawcia or something? it should've been a new character not a fucking retcon.

And now with Star Allies, being rushed, didn't offer any reason whatsoever why Marx is alive now, creating a massive fucking gap in the story if "none of the extra modes are canon" as well as stuff like "permanent landmark dreamstalk" being GONE

NTA but does this "extra content totally isn't meant to be canon" take have ANY traction at all over in Japan? Seeing as we don't have any semblance of Miiverse-like communication with them anymore outside of the sparse interviews, if that confusion never got a foothold in Japan fandom, I highly doubt they even consider it at all. Listening to the FL OST while working on page 2 of the novel, it's really interesting how they have a few tracks that almost feel like they're meant to be an audio drama segment of sorts. For example, "The Raging Lion Roars (Forgo Leon)" in CD4 is basically the same as the base "The Raging Lion Roars" track in CD3, except it has audio of Leon's attacks playing over it. Maybe the booklet explains their reasoning for including segments like these better, but it's very interesting either way.
