God I fucking love every single game vs Rune being the exact same shit where they drop Anne into Anne into Kuon into Kuon. Every single time. They never ever brick. And if you survive the second Kuon it's right about time for them to Cocytus D-Climb your ass. Seriously, Kuon is one thing, but why is Anne and Grea so grossly overpowered? Like, compare them to any other legendary 5 cost. Aragavy MAYBE clears a board and is a 6/5 body on evolve that also smacks you in your own face. Salefa is a slight heal that does an "okay" board clear on evolve and is a 5/5 body. Albert practically doesn't count as a 5 drop, dude does basically nothing unless he's enhanced unless you just need a little bit of storm damage to close out a game early. Why does Anne get to have the best effect AND summon a fat ward unit AND have pretty big stats for a 5 drop? It's absolute bullshit an evolved A&G gets to survive a calamity breath. I'm nothing special by anymeans but i skyrocketed from topaz to sapphire with forestcraft and play a ton outside of ranked with it so I'll try to explain every mu

Havencraft - Too many free turns to get roach set up so pretty easy
Dragon - They also allow a lot of free turns early to set up. Face version is a bit harder but you have so much early clear
Abyss - Midrange variants require you to have a board for them to do anything and the aggro ones deal damage to themselves making roach math easy

Rune - Their wards are pretty easy to get through but are annoying. Should aim to beat them before 10pp
Portal - Only Ward drops at 8 with orchis so aim for setting up a win condition by turn 8 that accounts for orchis or the 3hp heal guy

Of these two matchups rune is definitely easier, but I feel portal players should utilize their fuse units better. The 1/5 ward guy is probably really obnoxious

Yeah for sure. I played mtg arena in the beta but the whole land system just wore me down eventually. Honeymoon days can make you put up with issues that you are going to deal with later on.
So far the only thing I dislike here was that the guild reward system is a bit grindy but after seeing it in action for a week, it's a lot better than I thought. At worst you can just not grind for guild rewards to not burn yourself out. Monetization is also a bit questionable but ultimately not really any worse than any other card game even if a big step down from the original.
Fundamentally I don't have any problems with the card game itself which is rare.

Putting aside roach math entirely, forest just tends to be a harder craft to pilot because of its identity as the tempo oriented deck. Your cards tend to be very poor value in exchange for being very versatile and you basically always have to play proactively in a bunch of little ways like "I need enough cards in hand to board wipe next turn, how much defense do I expect on the opponent's board that I should hold cards" instead of being able to go "I have removal in hand so I'll hold it"
