I've majorly dialed back my spending since I don't like how they handled the canta/fluer censorship, or more recent monetizations, but the game has improved so much up to this point, kuro deserves at least some shekels. How the hell are the characters irrelevant? I can sort of understand Encore and Camellya as both of them don't really have much story exposure beyond Camellya being a lab grown resonator. Aalto and Shorekeeper however have relevance mostly through Aalto likely having connections across the entirety of Solaris-3 and Shorekeeper doesn't really need much explanation. That mostly just leaves the odd duck out with Encore and as she's from the New Federation, his connection to both Aalto and the region can be easily fleshed out in the coming chapters in that region. Okay, I've been trying to be gentle with Aerover but I genuinely think they're a mistake. Unless they plan to give aerial characters better air dodges, putting a character in the air does NOTHING but make them easier to kill unless they're like Brant who can just hang out fifty feet in the air and laugh because no boss is designed to attack that high. Aerover can't get that high, so they just get slapped. If you're in the middle of your aerial combo and the enemy decides to do something unfortunate, all you can do is mash your little air twirl and hope it works (it usually won't). It doesn't work. It just doesn't work.

Take a 1.0 5 star havoc release, Camellya. Camellya's kit works by itself and is open ended enough to let you experiment. The thing that rewards her the most is BA buffs due to her scaling, but havoc also works, resonance skill can buff her skill explosion which works, you can go all in on RL which works, and there was no staple on how to play her, some people played more into the spins, some into the skill, etc. And all of those building options could be explored without other 5 stars.

2.0 Characters (outside of Carlotta who was designed during 1.0 updates so it tracks) can only do one thing, function only with one teamcomp, and can only be played in one way. Amazing, fuck of with this shit bruh.
