A Tank that does not function well without a primary/Main Tank/has some secondary function to the tanking.
a Tank has two main jobs 1.make and take space for the team 2.protect your team.
you have your main tanks like Mag, Strange, Emma and Groot, they are the best in terms of protecting the team and eating damage for them, they make a lot of space because they are very tanky and have enough damage that you can't just ignore them, those 4 work perfectly fine without a second tank (not an excuse to not go 2 tanks however) and generally they deviate the least in terms of the Tank basic of be the frontline and protect the squishies
Off-Tanks however are less good at raw damage eating and/or protecting teammates which is why they need a primary tank to draw fire so they and their teammates don't die, they also have a different gameplan
Thor, Hulk,Venom and Cap are Dive Tanks, they make space by leaping right into the enemy backline and causing problems which the enemy team needs to retreat and deal with however this means they aren't really directly protecting their teammates and so they are exposed so they need that primary tank to protect them while they run around in the backline
The Thing is a Peel Tank, he mainly protects people from dive and is beefy but lacks the ability to really eat damage for people outside of just standing infront of them, he also likes to Brawl and generally be around the frontline like a normal tank.
Peni is an oddity, she's less about making space and more about holding space with The Mines she can't really protect people outside of setting up mines and the web stuff, she's honestly only a vanguard because she has a lot of health and a big hitbox
Mr Fantastic is pretty much any kinda off tank you need, he can Brawl, Dive and Peel its just that he needs to inflate to have the health to tank so he has downtimes which means he can't main tank, he also can't really eat damage for people like The main tanks can.

The problem characters like Iron Man and Spider-Man is that you have to alter your entire playstyle around them in order not to get destroyed. Half the cast straight up can't fight Iron Man at all. If the opponent plays The Thing, every single diver is still viable. They might struggle but it's always possible to play around the character with skill and proper tactics. This is not possible with a flier. This is not possible with a Spider-Man. These characters must be hard countered with everything you have. It's not difficult but it is extremely annoying. Maybe I wanna play a melee character. An entire category of characters is unplayable in half the matches. Even if it is playable, you must hard focus these cunt characters so they take up all your time and energy. It's exhausting and shit.

We need more counters. Obviously you can just pick Hela but I don't fucking wanna play Hela. Fuck that. It's extremely tiring to play characters I hate just because it's literally the only way to have a chance in the current meta. We need a more forgiving meta where all playstyles are viable instead of one class being superior to all others. Then we need more minor counters. i.e. let's say the Thing could use Earthbound to pull a flier down on the ground thus making it possible to fight them even if it's an unpleasant match up. I agree Mag's has the best designed ult in the game but not everyone should have such ults because of the number of skill checks you need to get value out of it and some characters really can't afford to have more complexity into their kits. It took like 3 seasons before people realize what it does and there are still people begging for autothrow when maxed.

Thor's ult doesn't really need verticality, it's just a way for him to avoid damage while he is charging his near one-hit KO. However, it's the hardest to land because it does fucking nothing to lock the enemy in place like Namor nor does it do fast enough DPS to matter like Spiderman/Psylocke.
Maybe they feel a tank doesn't deserve too damaging ult or something but it has not utility, I hope that they can at least design the Infinity War scene where Thor leaps diagonally and can have some aiming of where he lands to give it more utility.

Flyers will be nerfed because devs haven't let a comp stay meta past a season. Especially Iron Man and Torch after they carried Sentinels in the NA Grand Finals.
Spidey will get buffed to maximize Symbiote suit sales even if supports complain. They're already fucking them over with back-to-back DPS releases anyway.
Ultron's healing will get buffed and his damage will be nerfed. They always roll back a supports damage if it's too high because they (and everyone else) want them to be healbots.
Emma's damage will get nerfed and her diamond form cooldown extended.
Most nerfs and buffs the devs do are just random changes to either kneecap the meta heroes or to hope for a change in comp. Except for Luna, she will always be the top support.
