I tested this mechanic (Possesed monsters gear converted to dust with 5% chance) with 11 tornments, 25% posession, 180% quant, 70%pack, more rares map which dropped me 1d, 1valdo, and other 40c scarabs setup with more rares and converts

If you were to try the same set-up nowadays, you would find that it doesn't work anymore, was nerfed a long time ago or the numbers are simply not on par with modern POE. Can I still beast craft to improve my chances at recombining? And then you smash this with another similar one with 3 mods on the other side dude. unless you're playing a DoT skill with 100% damage uptime, that's not good-feeling dps. You're going to be fighting a t17 boss that has 140 million HP for around a minute or so unless you build so tanky that you can sit there without dodging and hold right-click for 20 seconds straight.

Lowered the damage of the following skills on Enemy Mercenaries (not when allied): Shield Crush, Intimidating Cry, Tempest Shield, Purifying Flame, Meteor, Flame Dash, Scorching Ray Totem, Reap, Corrupted Blade Vortex of the Scythe, Vaal Reap, Exsanguinate, Static Strike, Frost Blades, Vaal Burning Arrow, Burning Arrow, Absolution, Raise Spectre of Transience, all Reinforce skills.
Fixed Mercenaries aligned with all three attributes (Str/Dex/Int) being unable to equip items with all three attribute requirements.
Gilded Beam Width can no longer spawn on Mercenaries as a support for Unnerving Blast. It did not do anything and was mistakenly a valid option.
Fixed a bug where the "Cross Contamination 6" Challenge was only counting Ore Deposit Encounters completed in Delirium Maps. It now also counts those completed in Delirium encounters created by Delirium Mirrors.
Fixed a bug where completing an Abyssal Depth at level 81 or 82 would not award completion for Unreal Undertakings Challenge.
Fixed a bug where Loreweave would not contribute towards the Peddler's Produce Challenge.
Fixed a bug where defeating the Elder with an Active Mercenary did not complete the Paired Pinnacles Challenge.
Updated the description for Mercenary Offering skills to clarify that they affect the minions of the Offering skills' owner, and not all allied minions.
Improved Mercenary Inventory navigation in Controller UI.

Changed the damage dealt by the Trial Horror monster variety to use standard damage scaling instead of percent life based scaling. This also applies to the spectred version of the monster.

Apparition Shrine Buffs from the Domination Scarab of Apparitions have had their damage increased back to where they were before, and now only apply to the buff gained by the player.

this games difficulty is about solving build issues. think of it as a decicated heist runner and dedicated uber boss killer. one wants primarily movement speed the other damage and they dont care about the other stat. doing uber bosses on a heist runner or vice versa is impossible difficult. thats why powercreep is never a issue, because they can simply make new and different content to introduce new challenges.
player builds were a reflection of their personality and skill. there is no best build, its about which content you want to farm.
but ascendancies ruin that because there now are best classes that can deal with the endgame the best. juggernaut for defense. deadeye for damage, trickster for hybrid.
people wouldnt give a shit about op builds if you could just take 100 regret orbs and spec into the build in 5mins. thats why jonathan doesnt understand the issue with running campaign over and over again. he is right it shouldnt be an issue but it is because of ascendancies and classes being more than just a rpg element.

Lol there’s no way strongboxes make that much return on your ROI dude they’re just really fun because the mobs spawn instantly and all the other mechanics make you wait for fucking ever, like abyss you get to 1 million dps but clear at exactly the same speed as when you were 200k. Theres like no cool map speedrunning builds. Blight and breach also are time gated, your dps caps out at like 250k. And you need to put shit in your maps because that’s where most of the ROI comes from. Which leaves essence and strongbox content, which is probably why those are everybodies 2 favorite mechanics. Theres no pressure and it’s also very quick to cycle through a big stack of maps. When you do 1M dps your clear speed goes up bigly and it’s really clicky and fun to speed to the end and do it again and again and again the same thing every day to get your currency and never get bored and to not think too much about how your dude on the screen.

I knew people were doing juiced maps but I thought it was just a combination of lucky mods aligning or the new memory tear thing buffs stacking up to a very juiced last map, I learned only yesterday that they were juicing t16.5s because of a bug.
It was fucking awful playing the game with Chaos getting fucking Zimbabwe tier inflation
I thought the new orb upgrading crafted mods to real mods was fun, but they axed that. Not entirely surprised, but they could have at least tried giving it a pass.
All in all, what a shit league/expansion. PoE 2 and it's consequences have been a disaster for PoE and I don't know if they can ever recover from it.

Theres a few ways to get the lightning damage mod off that. You can select recombine it to a different wand that has a very low tiered suffix, like tier 8. That’s the cheapest method because it’ll be around 50% to transfer and your new wand will be 1p/1s. And to do this with 3 wands. Another way is to buy 3 wands, use the essence on all of them, then annul them all so they have only 1p. It’s better if it has no suffix because sometimes the suffix will transfer, and that costs extra dust basically. But if it’s a hard mod to roll it’s usually better not to annul it. And once you have 3 of each, the spell damage and the lightning damage. You make sure they both have an enchanted suffix and are 1p, because when they have suffixes it’s way cheaper to combine them with dust cost adds up. And you should get at least 1 copy of your new 2p/1s wand. Now at this point there’s lots of stuff you can do, you might want to do this 36 more times to get a 2p/2s wand with tier 1 mods. And then do it another 108 times to get 3 more. And now you have a decent shot at getting a 5mod wand. Its possible beastcrafting still works I dunno though. Nobody is talking about it. Basically if you beastcraft an aspect on your item, when the initial roll checks prefixes or suffixes, if it picks the side the craft isn’t on, and you already have a mod of that type, it removes the beastcraft from the pool, while still benefiting from the higher amount of mods when deciding how many mods will transfer. But I haven’t tested this yet, they renamed like all the bench crafts and the wiki is hella vague using words like “maybe” lol. My advice is to crash Wanda together until you get a 3 mod wand, to enchant 3 crafted mods and do like cast speed and a veiled mod. Thats like the most basic and easily achieved weapon.

Some recombinations aren’t possible anymore. Always highlight each mod, like actually click on them all. It wont highlight if it’s impossible to do. It will still let you press the button though. Fixed a bug where the 8 Modifier Corruption outcome on Originator Influenced Maps resulted in all Map Modifiers being Tier 17 Map Modifiers (rather than a mixture of Tier 16 and Tier 17).

So this may have been for me the best league i've ever played. I started playing hardcore in Perandus and pretty much have been semi addicted to this game ever since. It's clear we needed something to shake up the meta and bring some breath into this game and this league truly re-ignited the passion in me to push again.

I had a basic never ending loop that I felt was unbreakable. I would run my corruption scarabs in my fortress maps to drop the 16.5 maps with 8 mod , only to then run those maps to get more fortress maps and vice versa. I had different strats for each type of map , and the fact that these 16.5 maps had a juicy button once in a while made it an absolute addiction to roll godlike mods on it and run around with 400-500 quant and rarity every map just soaking in that sweet ass loot.

It got to the point to where I really couldn't stop playing, but this change completely bricks this strat if they are gonna roll regular t16 mods. The maps are going to be much worse overall for maxing out the quant and rarity farming , but also the accessibility most builds have to them. What is also incredibly confusing is that you can run t17's uncorrupted and get 2-3x the map size with close to similar results in some cases....

Just remember one thing. YOU said this was going to be the juiciest maps we've ever had, and now you're going back on it... nothing new for us... just sad.

In hindsight I should be happy because as usual , something fun was taken from us... and for what? I get the whole "its a bug thing" but this "bug" could have easily stayed in until next league and everyone would have understood the change. Now this league just got incredibly less fun.

I'm just gonna go back to Grim Dawn. I had a taste of life without T17 again. I'm not going back.

Been trying to farm out Emperor's Vigilance in the meantime but been pretty unlucky so just trying to kit out non-crit as far as I can so I don't get burnt out just spamming Betrayal. I know I need a better annoint and will grab it when I do blight stuff later.

I thought about crafting a rare shield but it looks like it would take me insanely long to get one with >2.7k armour, just for me to swap it out once I get an Emperors. I'd need 37 essences of dread to guarantee the T1 Armour % then I need to get lucky and have an open suff to craft prefixes cannot be changed -> harvest reroll -> T1 hybrid% which could take forever too.
My main upgrade point is looking like my chest I think or getting a similar pair of gloves with +phys damage and getting resistance catalysts for my chaos ring but they seem to never drop.
