6* lagiacrus is more difficult than a tempered 7* apex
Arkveld is the last normal monster you unlock in the campaign and it defeats almost all the monsters but its 8 star version has almost half the health of the others.
Suddenly some monsters have a high resistance to wounds and others explode like piñatas.
Why do apexes have 7 star versions and lower tier monsters like mizutsune only have 8 star ones.
The loot and drop rate system for lagy and seregios is completely different from the rest of the monsters.
And in the future, there will be an RNG talisman system on top of already craftable talismans?
It all feels like putting band-aids on everything instead of making major adjustments to the overall game . No rules, no planning, no direction. The progression and difficulty are all over the place.
I'm very curious to know the story behind the game's development because the difference between the high quality of the content in terms of monsters and fights and then the disaster of the game half-baked systems, progression and mechanics is very striking.

i get having wound resistance but when it's so high you can only get one per hunt what's the point of the mechanic? i feel like at rey had a pretty good wound threshold, 8* gore/lagi/steve/mizu seem kind of overtuned in that retard. really i'd just settle with tempered wound popping doing damage and not toppling the monster as well.

The secret of making the game difficult but fun is not to speed up monsters and bloat their HP but to slow down hunters, reduce weapon movesets and decrease the amount of skills a hunter can use.

Is Lagi the only monster with continuous attack that has to be blocked multiple times?

You can just perfect block Zoh Shia's fire puke once and you're invincible until the attack ends, lagi just fucks you up if you get out of your guard after a perfect guard.

I'm gonna say it. Mizutsune was a bit of an overcorrection on difficulty but still reasonable.

Tempered Seregios/Lagi went too far. At the rate things are going TU3-4 monsters are going to be fucking ridiculous.

they're hard enough to where they could lighten up the wound resistance on them. the mechanic basically doesn't exist with them because you'll be lucky to pop one tempered wound a hunt. they should have more wound resistance than your standard tempered monsters since they're 8*, but this much is kinda nuts. like just get rid of the mechanic at this point.

It's because they figure that the issue is endgame content not being hard enough, rather than the entire game being horribly balanced. So right now they're catering to players that have already done everything and think that they can fix the negative perception of the difficulty by making everything bloated to shit and able to one shot you, even though that doesn't really fix the underlying problems with the game. I do think 8 star steve is fun with a team though.

FSR AA now provides a better image than native + TAA or DLAA thanks to DLSS 4 slaughtering the volumetric effects.
