The point is that it doesn't do anything for her 4. Her shit snapshots the moment you get into your 4, and you don't get the strength bonus for all the buffs your 4 provides. So basically if you slot Bellicose over Molt Augmented you gain +12% strength for your 1/2/3 but lose out on 60% strength for your 4. Which is kinda retarded.

That's how you survive as Ember. Immolate and Inferno are traps, inferno aug is worse nourish and you don't need it anyways, and the fireball aug is actually okay. If you dint want to hyper commit to survivability then going for non-negative duration and strength is worth it for Fireball's augment.

Embers healing flame augment generates more than enough overguard to gate with constantly. If you are really struggling (and too autistic to build kullervo) just bring a dante spectre.
You can also always subsoom eclipse for 75% DR, on top of the overguard spam from yourself and your spectre.

Depends on your loadout. In your case, with roar, it might be actually useful, but you'd have to slot something like Umbral Intensify instead which is honestly just a waste of a slot for something you will barely notice.

Your build is already fine. Remove the augur mod. It actually disables your shield shatelite entire function by removing the 5 seconds shield gate and put the armor strip augment for her 4. Then build up your mods and finally decide if you want red archon shards for ability strength or duration. It's a matter of taste what you like more. Gas is the weaker element but it has its use cases. Melee afflictions is broken with it, to the point I think its a bug. Or if they are immobilizing/slowing the shit out enemies gas will do a lot more.
The big downside of gas is elite units. With blast they only take 4 stacks, which means as you focus them you constantly get the 'max stacks' effect and blow up all the trash around you too. That doesn't happen with gas, nothing happens really.
Really the only thing gas needs is some way to spread between targets.
