Hello! I'm back probably for a little bit I don't know but I've been making mad progress. I can't even remember most of it but here is some fishing progress.
I made the minigame quicker, easier and also added a load more fish so regardless of when or where you fish there is a large variety now.

As far as top-down goes there's not that many Terraria-likes. Tinkerlands came out recently with decent sales and it's the same shit. Both of them were successful in selling a game to a specific niche. That's ultimately what indie dev is about. I've gained plenty from /agdg/, but none of it came from posting my game(s). I am extremely skeptical of Elon trying to succeed in the video game market. The AI has nothing to do with it - AI is just a new tool. The tools aren't why tech companies keep failing in the game industry, nor is the budget or programming talent (these are all rich companies with extremely talented engineers). They keep failing because they think the game industry is a part of tech industry and treat it as such. Elon is similar. Also he's socially autistic and not in the "talented auteur" kind of way. He's socially autistic in the "can't appeal to common people" kind of way, which is the antithesis of a mass media like video games.

There's no information there that's relevant to my own goals. I work towards making good games that people want to play. I'm not searching for copout marketing strategies for convincing people to play subpar games that they don't already want to play. I was talking about making games to sell them, which is what Elon is trying to do. Making money by "owning a streaming service" or "owning a digital store" makes you a tech company, not a game company. Game companies make games and consoles. Twitch is a tech company, not a game company. Google just owns a digital store (AKA tech) but people aren't buying their actual gaming product (remember the Stadia).
Elon COULD make money by making a gaming-focused AI that he then sells/rents/licenses to actual game companies; my point is that he is going to fail at making games and selling them, because making games is not a tech thing, even though games and techs are both made with programming.
