You can buy them from the shop, do press "End the shop early" after buying everything to reset it faster. Or trade statues. There are also legend races that'll shit out those star tokens. Or sometimes random events like the El and Spe that's running currently. Don't worry, there are plenty of ways. Also, in JP, there are times when they'll give you free 50 to 80 pulls (sometimes split between half character and half support cards). The game is pretty generous with these stuff.

The free pulls are usually for half anniversary and anniversary. I don't know how they'll do that for global though. For JP, the amount of free shit we get depends on what the VA/idols pull during the livestream. Daily Legend Races were added 2 years ago I think, part of the update during the 2nd anniversary. You can grind for those star pieces once per day from there. Also, PVP that is probably coming next month, gives you some carats/gems and a few gold/rainbow shard to upgrade your support cards.

The card has a great "Specialty assign rate", and all kinds of bonuses that supports training. Also, her "Arcline professor" (probably be renamed in global) Gold skill is a great skill to have. An almost guarenteed speed boost because it's activation requirement is similar to Super Creek's "Swinging Maestro"

I'm a JP f2p player but most decks need 2 speed cards so I was still using kita along with tachyon until duramente got released and at the same time I managed to MLB jungle pokke (early 2024) so she lasted almost 3 years, off by a month, while most whales I've seen stopped using her after Janpoke got released which is before 2.5 anniv.

the reason she's meta is basically highlighted in red. Everything that makes a support card good is the interaction between those 3 stats (friendship bonus, specialty rate, and initial friendship guage) + training effectiveness. The reason for that is these 3 stats determine how easy you can level the card to orange friendship.

And in every stat, she's basically above the average outside friendship bonus, and in terms of specialty priority, so far above the average that it's obscene. On top of that, she also has hint rate bonuses on top which is considered tier 2 on what a support card wants.

She has literally everything a support card wants and at a consistently high level. This isnt even counting her skills and events which are also good having decent +energy events.

SPD doesn't do anything before the last third of the race. A lot of the common wisdom is parroted by anons who have only cleared Bakushin's career and try to play ever uma like that.
If you want to get into the nitty-gritty, front runners that want to be the pacemaker do want decent PWR while umas that don't really care or specifically don't want to be in 1st until the end of the race for skill activations can do with lower PWR (but have to rely on skills for acceleration instead).

There's also a bit of a story about King Halo's jockey winning big for the first time after switching to another horse and he credited King Halo for the win, bit of a tragic horse but not as bad as some of the others honestly but it's why her career is such a mess of races.
He got to retire and live long, he also sired Equinox who turned out to be a top tier horse to say the least.

If you set the race orientation to portrait then the game gives you a completely different experience that is absent in landscape mode. It has kino shots and feels like the heckin anime. Why is this not in landscape I have no clue.

The events give out a ton of skill points. If you have good inheritance and cards it's worth going out of your way for it. Plus some dates are a guaranteed recover from ailment along with a big mood up.

I like portrait but slightly prefer the real race feel of landscape.
Portrait on PC as well, you basically have the race on the left third of the screen while the UI you can't even access takes up the rest.

What sucks in portrait is that you don't get the full view of everyone like they do in actual horse races.
