For JP, the amount of free shit we get depends on what the VA/idols pull during the livestream. Daily Legend Races were added 2 years ago I think, part of the update during the 2nd anniversary. You can grind for those star pieces once per day from there. Also, PVP that is probably coming next month, gives you some carats/gems and a few gold/rainbow shard to upgrade your support cards.
