In regard to the piracy post from last threads.
I worked in the court system for a while, never did too much for piracy related crimes obviously but, 90% of it falls into the same category as bootlegging.
First thing they will do is determine if you pirated a game, if yes which isn’t hard, you’re already going to be looking at guilty most likely, after that people usually argue things like intent to distribute, racketeering, the concept of ownership, etc which either gets you in more trouble or doesn’t do anything one way or the other, never improves though.
God forbid any of you retards ever gets caught up with this stuff here’s my advice.
Best option is settle out of court, if you can’t for some reason do not argue at all that piracy isn’t theft, it doesn’t matter, saying that is admitting to committing piracy which is why you’re there. Don’t argue about “lost revenue” or “the game isn’t sold anymore” the judge never cares about theoreticals. Finally if you are one of those weirdos who argues about preservation I’d recommend keeping your mouth shut too, Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft actually document cases where Piracy and Emulation are mentioned at the same time to use in courts for later cases.

Not really, the Yuzu case was one of the worst blows piracy and emulation has ever had since it pretty much showed the courts 90% of piracy is to try to pirate new games people don’t feel like paying for because of “moral” reasons.

I like Mania but I really wish it was more original instead of just a "Classic Sonic hits compilation". Also this game doesn't really feel like a genuine love letter to the classics, as it further perpetuated the notion that Classic Sonic is cutesy with the Hesse animations. SA1 wasn't revealed at E3, but the May 21st, 1998 New Challenge Conference in Japan, where the SEGA Dreamcast was unveiled, cycled through various publications. Some noticed a shot that vaguely resembled an untitled motorcycle game, and others correctly guessed that it was the new Sonic game.

As it turns out, someone uploaded the full conference on YouTube. There was another one, but it didn't have the montage.

First of all that's not a story, that's a plot. A core part of Blaze's stories is an emotional conflict between Blaze and her desire to be open vs her duty. Silver doesn't have that sort of conflict with her. I suppose at some point Silver will help Blaze through some this emotional problem, then Blaze will overcome this burden, become Burning Blaze, and Silver will just cheer her on? In that case I think Silver is being misused. As much as I hate their '06 dynamic, I also don't think Silver functions as a protagonist without it, nor do I think Silver could be in a supporting role without screwing up Silver's characterization. My real problem with using Silver as a deuteragonist is that he has no association with the Chaos Emeralds so you miss out on all the narrative parallels if you even bother to use the emeralds. Also unclear how Marine works into this.

Of course this is all just me saying "I don't like this story because it's not structured like these other Blaze stories that don't have Silver". Do I think you could tell a good Blaze story with Silver as the dueteragonist? Yes, a good Silver and Blaze story is just a Sonic and Blaze story but with Silver instead of Sonic while dropping all her Rush lore including the Sol Emeralds and Marine.
