There's kind of a post-meta and new sincerity feeling to it, newfound appreciation for the longtime fans and lore, stuff like Tailstube, Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog, etc. Really I would say Mania kind of got the ball rolling but it took everyone else a bit to catch up.
But we haven't seen a lot DONE with it yet. Frontiers was something but again, clearly made on a budget. And Shadow Gens is just a Shadow lovefest, and pretty rooted in throwbacks to Gens. I think the next 3D game will be really important in setting the tone of where we are now.
