Sonic and Eggman have been chasing each other since they met. They both display enjoyment when fighting one another, the banter that they share, and that despite having many chances neither of them have put the other out of commission permanently. Donkey Kong is now a japanese franchise with little girls an anime like DK and open world gameplay japan can't get enough of

I don't think a tsundere dynamic is something that should ever be taken seriously, since a relationship based around both sides constantly irritating each other and lying about their feelings is just not a good thing to try and deconstruct.
It's like how in Battle when Rouge drags Shadow to safety and grumbles about him being a hassle, It's still played serious enough, but it's still treated as a lighthearted kind of thing instead of trying to call Rouge out for being "toxic" or whatever.

It's safe to say that Ariam is going to be another Gemerl and Marine we aren't gonna see her playable in any sonic game, marine and gemerl didn't even make it into sonic runners, sega just doesn't give a shit, the fanbase doesn't either, maybe someday she might get into Speed Battle since she has a model

I'm not that anon, I don't use A03 myself, but it's its main purpose, so it should give you some guidance once you're there. Other than that, it is the biggest fanfiction site in the world at the moment, just do a search on reddit.

Because people coped that IDW was "accurate" to Sonic despite the obvious holes in it, and when the manga came along, it showed that yes indeed IDW is OOC fanfic shit and is not universal to the franchise.

The fact that Knuckles IS KNUCKLES is not the problem with his character.

If Sonic is as free as the wind, Knuckles is as immovable as a mountain. This is the core concept. This means that while Sonic is a nomadic traveler, Knuckles always has to be rooted in place on Angel Island watching over the Master Emerald. The issue that then arises is simply "how do we get Sonic & Knuckles in the same place?"

But, what is required to make Knuckles work is two things:
1) The series needs a very strongly defined setting as the core backdrop, where Angel Island exists and holds significance.
2) Knuckles himself needs individual story focus, that puts the spotlight on him alone separate from Sonic. If he is the Guardian of the Master Emerald and all of Angel Island, then he should consistently have to face threats to the very things he has to protect. Otherwise, his job holds no weight. The Emerald and the Island are at the central point of the series' lore and mythos, so it deserves to be treated as such.

Simply deleting the Master Emerald so Knuckles is free to just follow Sonic on his adventures, is not how you use Knuckles. Because that assassinates the very core of his character and the root of his dynamic with Sonic.

Oh boy, not even 24 hours passed since I beaten Shadow Gens and I'm noticing all the plot holes from the ending.

Well, the Mania timeline stuff goes beyond Ian (or maybe it is his fault?) but what was supposed to be split timeline has been merged into one. It is not clear why Classic S&T don't split the timeline beyond Ian's attempted line from Tails "don't think about it too hard". Knuckles is the Rival who opposes Sonic's entire way of life and guards the very thing that can neutralize the very things Sonic can draw power from.
Shadow is another Sonic who can beat Sonic at his own game because he's literally the cooler, better, edgier, darker Sonic with special techniques with the Chaos Emeralds that Sonic himself never uses.

Characters can be done well no matter how many times it's been done before. The crazy scientist, the cocky protag, the gentle giant. Just because it's been done before doesn't mean you can't add your own spin.
Having a character who is good at what they do is great and allows for fun exploration of that skill and/or what it means to them, or even why they've had to be good at it.
Someone who fails is interesting because you get to explore why they want to be good at it, or why they fail at it. Is it their own hubris? The universe working against them?
Is is a story where they need to learn to get better, or a series of jokes about how they suck

You can get fun out of any story if you try hard enough.

First of all, I'd like to reiterate that I'm not him. I was a long time /sthg/ lurker before Captain ever started writing his fic, I was one of the people who responded when he was asking for proofreaders. I contacted him solely through emails as the discord account I used was solely for silently lurking a few servers to scrape pics and fics. I believe another of his editors was TC/Tonights Conductor who I believe is the admin of the /sthg/ server and the guy/one of the guys who runs the /fast) board but I'm not one hundred percent sure on that, but if he's still around he could possibly verify that there were other people helping Awf with his fic at the start.

As for why Captain has such a bad reputation, it's because he was too reactionary. He was incapable of not responding to anyone who said anything about him, from a random /sthg/ troll all the way up to popular YouTubers with hundreds of thousands of followers.
