Sonic and Eggman have been chasing each other since they met. They both display enjoyment when fighting one another, the banter that they share, and that despite having many chances neither of them have put the other out of commission permanently. Two sides of the same coin, Chaos and Control, constants that can't exist without the other. Sonic makes the world that much more worthy to rule for Eggman as the only real thing stopping him.
