I don't really care one way or the other. I don't need to feel "represented" in anything, although I do think a trans allegory fits incredibly well with the segasonic philosophy. Something like a game where sonic is helping an original new character who become his temporary partner (Think shahra, chip, merlina)
and throughout the adventure, And the entirety plot serves as a big metaphor for coming out, through the use of wacky level themes, enemies, and a fun black doom-like antagonist who embodies the idea of oppression and repression. And in the end, the final battle has sonic taking on your determination to be your truest self in order to transform into something cool, as you (in spirit) help him defeat the bad guy.

Sonic is all about helping the misguided heart, so a story about helping someone become be the truest version of themselves would be incredible imo.

The Metal Virus takes over the mind and we never actually see it successfully take him over, but this Sonic actually falls into despair for a minute before encouraging himself.

If SONIC TEAM wrote it it's not unlikely that Sonic would be inexplicably immune to the mind controlling aspect of the metal virus. Even if it was enough to turn his higher functions off they would probably do something like have him somehow consciously avoid chasing people.

I have a few ideas for a premise but one of them is a tropey plot of 'everyone becomes their halloween costume' and chaos ensues due to some new magical villain causing mayhem and instigating the plot in the first place.
Current ideas for a party are of Sonic, Tails, and Amy. With Amy's costume being a witch/mage, Sonic's costume being a werehog, and Tails' costume being tunic-wearing adventurer. Amy would get heart based magical skills, Tails would get sword skills, and Sonic would get beastly skills and moon aura.
