Let's not forget that Archie Sally was written by people who HATED Ben Hurst, her creator.
Sally's actual character is a cross between a rebel leader and a serious mother. That's it. That's all of it. That's what she's like in SatAM. She has no dramatic moments with Sonic at all in that entire series.
She's also very flirty, but not to the extent in archie. Ian Flynn and Penders have never written her in-character just like they've never written Sonic in-character.
Nobody, not even western characters, has ever been in-character in a western Sonic comic.
And Nicole? She's supposed to be Sally's daughter, not her girlfriend. The same people who pair them will also shit on Shadria claiming it's "sibling coded".

She fueled Rouge and Blaze's existence and burdened Tails to fulfill her role in colors (and later on with IDW, Amy). A great character and one whose reputation has sadly been ruined by Archiefaggotry.

No he can't take off accessories as it would be tearing off his own body and they wouldn't stay transformed if he did.

It's like in Kitchen Nightmares. Gordon Ramsey goes from kitchen to kitchen to completely upstage the chefs there andake them all look stupid. The point of "the wind" is simply that Sonic is a free spirit, and that "Freedom' is a core theme of the franchise as a whole. Which then means that Sonic is written as the ideal you should admire, rather than a relatable human being that has to grow or learn a lesson. This doesn't mean Sonic himself isn't still a person, though. Even if he is "fairy-like".
Sonic has personal flaws but he is never ever put in a situation where he has to grow out of them. He can be rude and impatient or even insensitive. Those are all in character. It crosses into ooc if you ever have him feel any guilt over that behavior and have to learn from it.

One of Sonic's most standout character traits is that he is put off by flirting. He will show off in front of girls but the jig is up once they get attached. Anti windfags will have that dismantled so that he is easier to ship.
Most people here didn't play Battle but Sonic is obnoxiously certain that Rouge is flirting with him and keeps trying to shut it down so that he doesn't get another Amy.

Current Amy is a direct result of going against her original characterization. These are direct opposites of one another.
Sonic is designed to be free as the wind, while Amy is designed to always chase after him. Sonic's freedom, and Amy's passion for Sonic, are both the core values of their character. Neither Sonic's freedom nor Amy's passion should ever be treated as flaws. "Current" Amy, however, is a direct result of treating her "passion" as a flaw that needs to be "fixed". As a result, the passionate and enthusiastic Amy gets "cooled down". This itself makes Amy more Sonic-like, as that difference between cool and warm is what separates them. Meanwhile, Sonic in the west is often made more and more enthusiastic and energetic, making him more 'Amy-like' rather than cool and aloof. Sonic's sense of urgency to get things done fast is turned into an extremely blind recklessness, his sense of "I don't care what anybody thinks, I'm doing things my way" gets turned into a flaw where the lesson is to "listen to his friends". A lesson that, for Sonic, goes against his core values and the themes of the series.
Sonic is supposed to be as free as the wind, just as Amy is supposed to be filled with intense passion for Sonic. To go against these traits is to kill both characters.
