Just finished Ys Seven. It's so weird how the game goes from damage-spongey bosses and enemies to absolutely trivial paper bags the moment you get your 80SP skills. The first few bosses took me ~10 minutes to clear but the penultimate boss took maybe 3-4 with Pentagram spam. That final boss was crazy cool if a little underwhelming in terms of difficulty. Overall the first half of the game was quite bad but really picked up in the second half. Gonna start on Memories of Celceta after a short break.

Trust me, its because unlike the other arcs, falcom decided to introduce grim garten marchen garten. Now by themselves its not that long thats why reverie corridor works in reverie. However when you combine those with sidequests and connect events then the pacing becomes pretty bad. Now I will admit the simeon and ulrica floors are fine because they are new characters but the floors with walter, harwood, jolda and letty were not needed and did not do much. They should have reduced the floors to 5 or 6 instead of having 9 floors. Van sidequests in Act 1 could have been reduced by 1 also in both parts. I think kai is a very good game but it also has the worst pacing in the series even more than CS4 and CS2
