Those new players realm are traps, they are mostly dead with barely any players, always join a "FULL" or "HIGH" realm.
Argent-Dawn is where most of the /vg/ players are but it's filled with role playing trannies, you can avoid interacting with them though.
Realm don't matter that much nowadays, you can join any guild from any realm or group with anyone by playing wherever you want, the only thing that matters is the crafters, you can only interact with them either through guilds or realm specific, which is why a "full or high" realm is better because there's more players.
But those realms also bring a huge problem, the spam in trade chat, first thing you need to do is to /leave trade-services chat

I dont know about fastest. I level all my alts by just questing, mostly in vanilla zones, with gathering and some dungeons as I go. You can go 1-60 in a few hours by 100%ing like three quest zones with WM on. Like Elwynn>Duskwood>Loch Modan + a couple dungeons and you're 70.

I dont do things to level as fast as possible, I do things so that I enjoy leveling and don't burn out and want to do it again.
I have 45 80s and than another ~ 80 characters 70 or above.

I finished Dflight with 117 70s and I still enjoy leveling alts cus I don't obsess about optimal, I pursue enjoyable things to do and if a thing isn't fun for me I just don't do it.

I literally hit 80 less than 48 hours ago and have my seasonal elite set for evoker.
Im wearing catalysted warmode coin gear with conq in the ring/neck/trinket slots and weapons.
Got the coins while I leveled and the conq gear while I pushed the rating.

Pvping is both more engaging/challenging and more chill than pve. It's more satisfying to win and demands less grind to access. What it does demand is perseverance and willingness to learn/admit what you don't know and seek to improve.
